What our students said about Antalya

There is a great difference between new Antalia situated in the west and older ones. But its all part of the experience. Certain body guards in Uzun carsi Sokak were very rude. I was only looking at the interior of the yard from the street (public), and they pushed me (because I wasnt sure if I want to enter or not) and went after me for next 30 minutes. It was Ottoman restaurant, I think. I spoke in Turkish, but nothing helped. Out of the blue emerged police officer, and asked me if there is a problem (there were many officers due to visit of Cavosoglu, minister of external affairs the next day). I explained what happened, but he didnt want to intervene because ("they are crazy", that I've been told by officer). So I understood I should go away, and as we say in Croatia "swallow the s..." All other things were great. I would recommend anybody to visit this beauty of the city, to experience warmth of the locals.

Very nice city. We were in the old town (Kaleici) and that is a bustling area. Very touristy but very cosy. A long walk from the main beaches (Konaalti beach) but with the city tram you are there in no time.

I still like it. In the evenings and at night, unfortunately, a bit of a party atmosphere in the old town.

The organisation was great - however, we were not informed in advance that the number of hours would be reduced due to lack of participation...

Really good teacher. Location was nice. Certificate. Everyone was really nice.
Although the beforehand given information were incomplete, the quality of the language class itself was remarkably good and the teacher gave her best! For me it was a really good decision!

Other course participants paid 115 euros for 5 weeks with 20 hours each, I was charged almost twice as much for 2 weeks by the booking service and the school, but there was no grading, the weekly hours were cut to 15 without consultation and those who had booked 5 weeks were only supposed to get 3. So most dropped out of the course and at least one got money back. I dropped out after 4 days because I didn't want to accept the teacher's behaviour.

The headmistress very quickly offered me a new course or rather organised it after it became clear that the course initially planned for me did not correspond to my level. Many thanks for that! I learned a lot in the short time.
I would recommend it

On the first day, the school was completely surprised about my appearance, the responsible person knew that I would arrive, but apparently forgot. So, quickly the lessons were organised, which overall were ok. One of the teachers more interested in his smartphone than in me for a while, so I told him that I would like his attention when I have lessons with him. He then adjusted to it, but was probably a bit piqued; in any case, the following day, I got another teacher. The time stated in your mail for the beginning of the lesson on the 1st day was not correct. I was standing in front of locked doors and when I returned an hour later, I was told that lessons start at 10:00. But in the end no big drama. I have also voiced my criticism on-site and I believe that this was received positively.

Central location, beautiful view, familiar atmosphere, barbecue evening on the roof terrace
Unfortunately a bit poorly organized, there was no plan on how to divide the students. There was no placement test. After all, there was only 1 group with beginners and advanced students. The first day of class was completely lost. There was only 1 teacher, he was often a little bored and disinterested, often made private phone calls. The breaks were the most important thing for him. Too much English is spoken, according to another course participant everything was better last year, apparently some teachers have left the school and the school management has changed, maybe next year it will look completely different again. The book was not particularly helpful for studying

The teachers are nice and helpful. We did not have the right level for us at the beginning. It was remedied the same day after we said that we feel overwhelmed. - Time passed quickly.
The school is very difficult to find because street signs are missing. It would be better to describe the location like this: Exit at the fast new streetcar in the direction of ..., then cross the street, in the house of the curtain store on the 4th floor.

Staff are great, very patient, and very friendly. Quality of teaching is high. Lots of small things they do are quite cool - e.g. the ones who are not teaching make themselves available and speak to you during breaks (ad hoc practice sessions). I did not rate the social activities or accommodation because I did not experience either. The students who did seemed quite satisfied.

The best was my excellent, "5-star" teacher GISE. Her way of explaining Turkish grammar, to motivate the students to speak and to improve their pronunciation/"listening" comprehension is "perfect". It was a pleasure. I made a lot of progress.
"Climate" in the classroom, perfect service concerning beverages, excellent books

Information about Antalya

Why Antalya? Once seen as simply the gateway to the Turkish Riviera, Antalya today is very much a destination in its own right. Both classically beautiful and stylishly modern it is Turkey's biggest international sea resort and the largest city on Turkey's western Mediterranean. The wonderfully preserved old-city district of Kaleiçi (which literally means 'within the castle'), offers atmospheric accommodation in the finely restored Ottoman houses on its winding lanes. The old city wraps around a splendid Roman-era harbour with clifftop views of hazy-blue mountain silhouettes. A short distance from the city are two beautiful beaches and one of Turkey's finest museums.
