What we like about the school
- Located just 2 minutes from the Dolby theatre, where the Oscars as well as many movie premiers are hosted.
What we dislike about the school
- Cancellation fees for students having to cancel due to visa rejection.
Location: The school is in the heart of Hollywood on The Walk of Fame! It is conveniently located close to a subway station and the Hollywood and Highland Center shopping centre. Across the street is Kodak Theatre, where the Oscar Award Ceremony is held. There are countless bars, restaurants, grocery stores, shops, music venues and cafes all around the area.
Moving around the city: The Hollywood / Highland subway station is an 8-minute walk from Mentor Language Institute. This station has the red line service running through it, which goes all the way to Downtown Los Angeles, the central part of the city. There are bus stations all along Hollywood Boulevard as well as on Sunset Boulevard, which is about ten minutes by foot from the school.
Local attractions: All the exciting things to see in Hollywood are within walking distance of the Mentor Language Institute. It is possible to get to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in under 20 minutes from the school, but bus services on Hollywood Boulevard. The Getty and the Santa Monica Pier are to the far west of Los Angeles. Students can use the bus services around the school to navigate to both these attractions in around an hour.
Course structure: The school has structured classes for students learning English as a Second Language. These can be taken as a general course or with extra courses attached such as a conversational extra or an exam preparation course. There are programmes to further the students' understanding in English such as an TOEFL exam preparation course and a conversation course.
