We felt very comfortable. The old town is beautiful, with lots of great restaurants, bars and cafes. However, one should never forget to have insect repellent with you. In and around Lucca there is a lot of water and unfortunately a lot of mosquitos.

Lucca is a very beautiful medieval city, surrounded by a city wall, and from one "cast". There are many beautiful squares and alleys and something new to discover everywhere. A very pleasant city where I would have liked to stay longer.

It is a small city that has everything, good public transport to travel to nearby cities and very quiet and safe. I am in love with its old town inside the walls. I have not felt like a tourist.

Nice little town, but because of the old preserved city centre with many tourists you do not find every day life in an Italian city here

- small groups - lively, practice-oriented, varied lessons - mixture of different ages and countries of origin - Afternoon activities that resulted in subsequent dinners with classmates
Through the afternoon activities, which were always voluntary, you got to know other participants from the school (better) and could also meet up for the evening.

I liked Madalena's teaching style. I also liked how the school encouraged student interaction via the activities and the 11 a.m. breaks. Everyone got to know everyone else, even if you were in different classes.

Only one small criticism: acoustics! Carpets and curtains would certainly improve the situation.

It was very personal and every week teachers and students were shuffled according to their level. They tried to bring the language closer to us mainly with original material (newspapers, interviews on radio / TV): I also found that very helpful and good.

I have no experience with other courses, but I think that the teaching was very good.
I missed a cup of coffee. I think they could have included that in the course price, or even paid for if necessary. Now you had to go to a cafe, which was sometimes nearly impossible timewise.

The open learning method. So don't follow a lesson from front to back. And of course that it only goes in Italian and not in my own language and then translated into Dutch.
I would like to have paid more attention to the verbs, because you use this to build sentences.
