Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The teacher Isabel was very committed and nice. There was a lot of talking. Contrary to expectations, we were only 4-5 students, so a very good group size.
Negative aspects
Worksheets and choice of topics are sometimes very school-like and not very appealing.
Other comments
The break periods are not cleverly arranged: only after the first 2 hours is there a short break. Smaller breaks in between would be better in order to be able to concentrate better.

I felt perfectly placed in the course level. The number of participants was perfect; not too many/not too few. The best thing was the teacher! She was great professionally and also cheerful and motivating. The time flew by and I left with the best impulses, knowing that I would book a follow-up as soon as possible! Absolutely recommendable! Thank you!

My host mom gets angry all the time about the smallest details and a lot of the times she misunderstands me, she gets so many mood swings. On one recent occasion that I remember, I asked her if there’s enough cheese left in the fridge from the one I bought, by that she thought I’m accusing her of consuming my personal products although all I was trying to do is differentiate between the 6 different cheeses in the fridge I tried to explain but she’s stubborn and wouldn’t try to understand me so she got very mad and started comparing me to other guests she hosted and deported because they had a snobbish presence and order. She used to scream at me if the toilet is occupied although I use it only once a day every day or two. Her internet connection was so awful that on my last day while ordering Uber to go to the airport I had to go to a place nearby in search of connection and I was late. Not to mention that at night she turns it off to “save electricity.” The house was very very far from my school and everywhere in Paris it requires a minimum of 45 mins metro ride using 2 metros at least, even the closest metro stations were 750m away from the house (12 mins walking) which was tiring. My classmates told me they were assigned with host families that are 20 mins walking from the school. I don’t recommend this host family, I’ve had better allocations before.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The professor was excellent and I enjoyed the work very much.
Negative aspects
Speaking with masks in a large class was a struggle. It was very hard to hear and I missed much of what people said. I also found the frequency that one could actually practice conversation was very limited.
City/place
Best city in the world... but very expensive!

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
I was lucky to have a good teacher. The classes were interesting, interesting topics were discussed.
Negative aspects
- I did miss though a clear programme and curriculum that was being used during the classes. It really depended on the subjects chosen by the teacher, which were - as mentioned - very interesting but also very random. There was no specific curriculum of, for instance, B2-level grammar (which I did) that we could go through. Sometimes too much time was spent on explaining very basic (A1/2-level) grammar as the level of French of some students was definitely not B2, which brings me to my next point. - I would suggest that the assessment of the students' language knowledge prior to enrollment be revised. The online language test was very short and simple, and I felt that a number of students in my class did not have the level they had signed up for, which adversely affected the quality of the class. - Minor detail, but perhaps still worth mentioning, there were very few toilets at the institute, only two, resulting in long queues during breaks.

Talk to the people from the Study Office if you are in a course that is not your language level!!

If you already have a good language level, you have to be careful that you really get afternoon workshops at the same level. Otherwise you will always automatically be put in A2 workshops.

I have already had an experience with a similar language course in another school, the comparison is not speaking for Accord school in Paris unfortunately. From organizational point of view: no any introduction re. school, facilities available, emergency exits. No any activities suggested during the week, the only option suggested on the last day of my one–week course was a bus excursion on Saturday, which was not an option for those leaving Paris after lessons finished on Friday. The teacher in our group did not provide any information about her working experience as a teacher or how long she was working in this school. The materials were given as separate black&white copied A4 sheets from a known learning book. In my previous school there were own school book published and provided to students. I would not complain here if copied sheets were at least complete. But they were copied with some first letters of words missing because nobody cared to check this before submitting to students. The teacher was not well prepared in terms of audio materials – she tried to play CDs and it were wrong CDs or they just did not work. This happened on 4 days out of my 5–day course! It was easy to avoid by checking in advance. The window in the classroom was broken and could not be closed, so we were permanently disturbed by noise from construction works outside. Finally there was not any questionnaire or possibility to provide feedback at the end of the course. On the positive side I need to mention the content of the course and motivation of the teacher to transfer the knowledge. I learned a lot during the week. All in all, I would definitely proceed learning language in a similar setup but definitely not with Accord school in Paris.

For a foreign person who is in a strange place for the first time, a good orientation is always needed, which the school does not provide. It is impossible to enjoy museums, restaurants, nightlife and other important things when nobody explains them to you. You do not know if your life may be in danger because you do not know where you are when you walk or take public transport.
Quality of teaching / language progress
It was a great shame that the school did not offer cultural activities to visit the different places in Paris. There is no one to guide you. It is important to share with the study partners in France about the city.
Accommodation
It would have been better if there was a TV or radio in the room.

They should repeat every day what the students had to learn the previous day. My son did not do anything because it was not mandatory. Only on Thursday he did 'something'. That is a pity.

Thank you for your feeback Madam, we appreciate it ! I am very sorry you believe this is how we work as we have a structured weekly program with different activities every day and pedagogical targets to achieve every week. It is however true that we work with the same topics during the whole week, this allows us to dig every subject.

Overall experience was very positive. The students are very mixed in age and nationality although the classes seemed to have more high school age students during July versus June when I first started. The morning intensive programs are fast paced and challenging while the afternoon classes are a little more relaxed and seemed to have higher numbers of students per class.

The morning class was very good and the level was exactly mine. The teacher was excellent. But in the afternoon classes there is a great variety of students with different levels in one class. That doesn't really fit. In addition to that subjects in the afternoon where not interesting for me (for example the system of justice in France, difficult and boring...)

Friendly teachers on a good language level. When they noticed the class was too easy or too difficult, they would suggest other options.

I stayed at two different accommodations with two different host families. My first host family wasn't a host family at all, I had to live in my room alone because the lady I was living with was on holiday in Canada the entire time I was there. The second host family was completely different and very nice.
