Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I started a course as a total beginner. During the class, only Spanish can be spoken. Also Spanish spoken by Argentines is quite fast and difficult to catch it. As we normally studied with handouts provided instead of a textbook, it was difficult to prepare for the class. Electronic dictionary is essential to keep up with the speed of the course. The time schedule and teachers are changed every week. Students know the actual information on each Monday. There're many Brazilian students at school. As a student of A1 level, you should be more straight to say "I understand","I don't understand" or "Please say it again" without paying too much attention to other students. Also if you know the basic knowledge of English and can explain your culture and politics, you can enjoy the school life significantly.
Other comments
There is a supermarket nearby. You can buy some food and nuke it. At school, they offer apple, cookies and coffee for free.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
If you like meat then "Siga la Vaca" is the place to go to. It´s a restaurant close to Puerto Madero where you have "tenedor libre" for less than 10 Euros including a bottle of wine and a dessert as well. :: A second place is to eat well is "Petanque" a fantastic french restaurant with the best Creme Brulee I have ever had! It is in San Telmo close to a flea market. :: Yeah, and the flea markets in Recoleta and in San Telmo are worth more than just one visit. It is so great to talk to the people that craft the stuff you might buy plus they like to talk so it is a good way to test your knowledge.
Other comments
The school is situated very close to the Obelisco on Avenida 9 de Julio meaning you can reach it easily using the underground. Furthermore, it is close to a lot of sights and the shopping scene. I totally enjoyed the time I spent within and around this particular school. Talk to the staff if you need information on any kind of activities, places to eat, whatever. Even if they cannot answer immediately they will definetely find the answer later on. The classes are completely mixed and there are few students even in the so-called group classes. I never heard of a class with more than 6 students. The school distinguishes between 7 skill levels. The workbooks for each level are provided by the school and are quite well structured. If you are bored by one level it´s not a big deal to advance to the next level and leave your original fellows behind. This guarantees the best education according to your skills. In the end you can take an exam. It is to determine your actual level that will be stated on a certificate you will receive. Don´t be scared! But if you really do not want to make the final test, you will get a certificate as well. This one only contains the amount of hours you have done in the school. A second certificate is for personal use. Your professor will judge several things like oral and written understanding, ability to express yourself. Finally, some critics. The school only provides internet access via modem and with two computers only. This might change quickly, don´t know. Anyway, it´s not a big problem cause you will find a locutorio (internet cafe) in almost every single block plus it is cheap (an hour is about 40 cents).

Don't book your guest family in advance. Check into a hostel the first days and then take a look at different famlies, before you decide. ==> Good hostel tip for the first few days: Che lugarto in downtown.

I'd only recommend Coined. I attended the class with great pleasure, and I learned a lot about language and daily life of the locals. The school's environment was very, very nice. Everybody was so friendly and always helping us in order to sort out our doubts and problems. I hope to be back someday to continue with my lessons.

Negative aspects
The organization definitely has to be improved. The airport pickup was organized, but it wasn't anyone from the school, students were taken to their hostfamilies by taxi (difficult if a student doesn't speak any Spanish and can't communicate with the driver, because the driver didn't know anything about the school or hostfamily). No one knew at what time classes started the first day, there were not enough teachers (after that the course was very good)

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
1. i have a lot of friends at COINED who were not satisfied with their internship placement. make sure you are very specific about what you want and that you get it. 2. if you are not learning much in group classes, switch to individual ones.
Other comments
It seems that although the peso dropped and no longer equals the dollar, the prices for everything did not follow suit. this seems to be a common trait in all of argentina´s language schools. however, it poses a particular difficulty concerning the host families. Almost everyone I knew who was staying in a host family felt uncomfortable with not knowing how much the family was receiving and vice versa for the family. i believe the family receives less than 30% of what we pay, which is pretty ridiculous. it´s uncomfortable because we are paying more than enough to rent the best apartments in the ritziest areas, and thus would expect something outstanding from our host family experience in exchange. the problem is that the families are not aware of thus, nor or they receiving enough to inspire an outstanding experience delivery.
