Positive aspects of school
A great school to improve your English skills in a few months of living in Canada.
City/place
The city is good for work and study, but is still too young to interest lovers of old buildings and ancient legends.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Two out of three of my teachers were excellent. Two of the three different campuses I visited were very nice and had a good location. I also really enjoyed the school trips.
Negative aspects
Unfortunately, the Business English course was not really focused on Business English. One of the campuses has its rooms in the basement without windows.
Other comments
I would not book the Business English course again, but I really enjoyed the General English course.
City/place
Toronto is one of the most diverse cities I have ever visited.
Quality of teaching / language progress
There was almost no discussion of business topics and I learned almost no new vocabulary.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The personal is friendly, and eager to help.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
1. Initiative and organized meetings. The school is large, thus the circulation of students within different groups of interest (IELTS, TOEFL etc.) may occur. Every week we had new students coming, and some of the old leaving the group. Under this circumstance it is a good idea to take the initiative and organize meetings and gatherings with both the new and the old students. 2. Use the meetup website to practice English with native speakers.
Other comments
I have heard about some irrational rules that some host-families oblige students to follow, for instance: Don't boil water to prepare a cup of tea during lunch time, because you are only expected to do so during breakfast and dinner. I have also heard from other students that there were limitation on using the kitchen. I think ILAC need to cover this during orientation if thinks that the host-family rules are reasonable. I personaly used airbnb, and I was extremely happy with my host, so don't forget about this option.
City/place
In winter, although the temperature isn't too low, it feels quite cold due to either high humidity or wind.

Quality of teaching / language progress
My level of English has improved a lot.
Accommodation
Homestay was a bad option for me. The basement was too cool, heating wasn't sufficient and didn't work permanently. I slept with several socks and my gloves. The homestay mom didn't want to increase the degree of heating because according to her, weather was better. I am from a sunny country, and she didn't make an effort to help me. All machines in the house were in my room and made a lot of noise and distributed my sleep. i left my homestay after 18 days because i couldn't take it anymore. ILAC must do more follow ups with students to ensure their comfort in the homestays. They should also review the lunch proposed to students because it isn't easy to eat sandwich, fruit and water all time during the training. I preferred to take my dinner as lunch and I often went to sleep without eating. The meals served must be improved to allow for better living conditions. I may not have been lucky, homestay was a bad experience and I will not advise this option to my friend. The lady put my forgotten shower shoes in the hotel because she was waiting for another student. I was very fuzzy. LAC must keep in touch with students placed in homestays and make inspections in the proposed rooms.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
A very nice atmosphere, very good teachers, good variety of courses and electives. The school offers activities every day during your stay (some are free and others aren't). Good location. There are people of all ages, but most are university students.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I was there for two weeks and time flied. I think it would be good to stay longer, a month would be great.
Other comments
Upon arrival to school, there are several people there to help you and answer any possible question. It's great! I found my own accommodation.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Do not buy the book during the first week. they probably won't use it and they might change it the week after.
Other comments
The make you change books too often, even when they change the teacher but the level does not change. Mixing teens with more mature students is not a good idea. We don't feel comfortable. Maybe we are a minority and they cannot make a group only for mature students.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
If you want to learn English, you should actually participate in class and not go in and out, it's annoying. Pay by credit card, not via wire transfer. The money comes back and it's less than before.

They say there is a woman who speaks German but she only speaks English. I wanted to get some information about another course but oh well ...
