Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Excellent teacher and kind staff in a pleasant and friendly environment.
Negative aspects
I would recommend a better explanation of the extra activities, I didn't see a library or a place for communal studies.
Other comments
The staff is very friendly.
City/place
Beautiful city with a lot of culture and history. I love Paris, and I've been many times but this time I was under the impression that the city is dirtier and with more homeless people than before. The heat was extreme and they are not prepared for it, which was a problem.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Great teacher, a small group that allows us to revise some topics, but the number of lessons is too low.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Very central location. Friendly atmosphere, well balanced lessons, small group of five students - you got a lot done, nice afternoon excursions.
Negative aspects
Too noisy in our room. Partly quite large groups.
City/place
Great city, but expensive: eating out, going out, activities, even accommodation. You need a Visa card for almost all activities. Bikes have become expensive - pass for more than three days would be great. It was fun!

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Location & small class size
Negative aspects
Large differences in student levels. One young student slept in class and walked out of the room at least twice during each session. Didn’t seem to be much collaboration between instructors since afternoon session repeated some morning exercises (according to students who were in the morning class). Afternoon instructor was good.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Questions and requests for changes were answered immediately or a solution was found in the shortest possible time.
Negative aspects
In my course room - as in most of them - there were no work tables with the result that the papers often were lying on the floor .... not only mine :-)
Quality of teaching / language progress
Although we were a relatively large group with 12-13 participants, our teacher had a real talent for managing the 5-6 nations and age groups from 19 to 62. Well structured and still plenty of room for lively communication.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
I did a month of 20-hour classes, started in one class and finished in an upper level class, where I had a great time. Ivan and Maione good, he for advanced level with challenging and interactive lessons, she for general review.
Negative aspects
The value for money is not adequate. It is really too expensive. Inadequate classrooms and equipment, inadequate extra activities. I say this in relation to the price.
City/place
La ville Lumière what else to say? Arctic climate, and my wallet was stolen after 1 week, although I was very careful. Food for those who stay there a lot can become a problem.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Overall a good assessment of the teaching.I would have liked more classroom conversations and interactive lessons ( this Ivan does a lot). Also they were working , to learn vocabulary, on inappropriate topics such as "sustainable economy and pollution. I would have preferred to work on topics like how to live in France, in Paris. Basically I know how to say depopulation and diversification but I don "t know how to say fork and knife....

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Nice teachers who really put a lot of effort into their work.
Negative aspects
The classes are extremely heterogeneous in terms of level, with students also changing frequently. This makes it difficult for the teaching staff to facilitate continuous progress and can lead to frustration among the students. In addition, from level B2 onwards, there is no longer any actual offer of learning in a group; thus, individual tuition is indispensable.
City/place
Paris is Paris.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Compare before. Problem with heterogeneity in the class.

Positive aspects of school
My teacher Marcel was great, the atmosphere in the school was pleasant.
Negative aspects
As the room was too small for our group, the school tried twice to move the lessons to a room in another district. I wouldn't have liked that because it would have meant a longer commute. I also chose this school because of its location.

Positive aspects of school
The teachers do an excellent job. They teach with joy and yet at a high but appropriate level, so that you are definitely well challenged. They are patient in dealing with questions until they are understood.
Quality of teaching / language progress
A lot of talking in the afternoon classes gives the desired intensity and helps to learn the language more fluently.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
For the most part the teachers were enthusiastic and helpful.
Negative aspects
As a result of Covid there were only two classes whereas normally there are four. As such, if you weren’t a beginner then you were in the other class which meant that there was a real mix of levels in one classroom which led to the more advanced students being held back because of content that was too easy, spending too long on simple subjects or having to wait for less advanced students to catch up. This was particular.

Everything was perfect and I really enjoyed this program, teacher (Kea is a marvelous teacher!) and the students I met in the class. Thank you and I certainly recommend LSI to everyone who wishes to study French in Paris.

Positive aspects of school
Excellent location. Classes started right on time. I was placed in the right level, with some students above me, and some below me, but all of us at more or less the same level. Very friendly school, very easy to talk with Daniel if there were any issues.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Join the Tuesday afternoon excursions with other classmates. A good way to meet people and make friends. The Centre Pompidou is right next door and has a fantastic library (closed Tuesday), where you can study. It's open until 11 p.m. Bring a notebook and different coloured pens, also pencils. There are little cafés very near the school, so getting a snack during the morning break is easy.
Other comments
The chairs don't provide much space on the tiny attached desk. Would prefer a real desk. The class level got increasingly more difficult each Monday when new students joined. I started at level A1, and the class jumped to level A2 after just two weeks. I could handle the grammar alright, but I needed more intensive work on very basic level French verbs, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
City/place
Nothing bad to say about beautiful Paris! It's such a delightful city, and the school is wonderfully located, with easy access to everywhere. So many terrific museums, parks, historic places, the opera houses, shops, etc.
Quality of teaching / language progress
The course was excellent; my teacher Léa is wonderful. She is a very talented and creative teacher, also fun and funny. All of us enjoyed her teaching style and ability to help us learn very much. Every Monday, new students would join the class, and the class seemed to jump to a higher level each week. Some of us wanted to slow it down to be able to absorb what we'd just learned. However, by Wednesday, the class was generally able to gel and work together on the more complex vocabulary and grammatical forms.
Accommodation
1st homestay was inconveniently 40-45 minutes away. My room was fine, but the apt was teeny-tiny and jammed with the owner's belongings. I was not allowed even a tiny shelf or a hook in the bathroom to put my things or even a towel. The hostess offered me instant coffee, even though she has a coffee maker. She let me use her coffee maker, but I had to buy my own coffee. I thought that was kind of cheap. The dinners were very nice, though she did not serve wine. I had to buy my own wine, and I felt a little uncomfortable being the only one drinking wine. The 2nd homestay was much more conveniently located, and the hostess was delightful. However, she was on a 3-day grapes-only diet, and dinner was almost nothing during this time (french fries & lettuce only one night!) I chose to eat out several nights, as the food was so terrible. However, the room, the location, and the hostess were all wonderful, so I didn't mind too much, and I would even stay with her again.

Excellent teaching. Very good course materials. There was an environment and atmosphere of friendliness and care!
Other comments
The first assessment was almost impossible. I feel it would be better to give a slightly more accessible assessment and so at least give students a chance to respond to questions and show what they do know. Excellent teachers but it might have benefited students if there had been more chance to have more 'extensive' one-to-one conversations in class with the teacher. Students might need encouragement in the public domain but that sort of practice is invaluable and because there were sometimes 15 people in the class it might only be a couple of times a week when the teacher could possibly ask a student about their time the previous evening or what they intend that evening or next day etc.

Dedicated and committed hardworking teachers who were interested in teaching and having us learn. Serious attitude of school with weekly Monday morning tests to evaluate the progress in terms of materials previously covered in class. Punctuality and attendance were emphasized.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
There were only 2 other Americans besides myself in the 4 weeks I attended. The first class had 8 students. The second class for two weeks was a combination of two different classes by the school and had 16 students. It was way to large and there were very different levels among the individual students. All but one in this very large class were female. In the fourth week, the class had about 10-12 students in it - all female. Most students were young college age 20-somethings. A few of us were in our 40s-50s-60s. Many of the young female students appeared to be from wealthy and privileged backgrounds and circumstances.
Other comments
It's a very international school and they are serious about their mission of teaching French to foreigners and getting their students ready to take the required national exams which the French government requires for foreigners who want to work in France. I also took private lessons in afternoon which helped me greatly in terms of conversation.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Intensive course differs from the common not with the program, but with the amount of hours. It seems for me that it's better to take the common course - you learn the same, but you're less tired and can see the city better. If you've suddenly decided to cook your own meals, keep in mind that it's very difficult to find some cereals, except rice in Paris ;)

I was disappointed with the homestay family which was one lady who was never there and expected the students to eat in their room. I had hoped for interaction to improve my French but this did not happen. She did not invite the students to Watch TV and we were expected to stay in our rooms if she had guests. However the house was very clean and convenient to the school.

The school is quite small and I think that the integration was awesome. I particularly enjoyed the evenings with all of the people from the school.
Other comments
In my opinion, there were too many people in my group, it was crowdy and not very comfortable. Less people means better contact with the teacher and bigger progress.

Positive aspects of school
Even though there were 10 students in my class, my teacher controlled the class very well and we could participated in a lesson very actively. A coordinator could help me well during my stay. As the school is located in a business district, you can enjoy shopping and sightseeing. You also felt to be a "Pariseienne".
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I recommend you to go over the conjugation of verbs before taking a level check test.
Other comments
There are only two toilets in the school. As there're many cafeterias around the school, most of the students go out for a coffee during a break and get relaxed.

Unkind to the novice. For those who are studying French, to some extent I think it is a good school. I was learning the basics in Japanese. The teacher could not keep up at all.

The availability of my teacher-Vanessa- and generally of all the school-s staff. It is not easy to deal with people who know nothing of French - my level was débutant, A1 - but patience and knowledge of the teacher allowed me to dramatically improve my level of French.

They were more flexible with dates than other schools. The school also accommodated my request to move to a higher level after the first week.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I stayed in a hotel during the course, but wish that I had stayed with a host family.
Other comments
This school is great for high school and college/university students, but if you're a little older you might want to look elsewhere. I think you pay a lot for this school's location (near the Louvre), which is fantastic, but the facilities were not that great--during the busy month of June the tiny classrooms were packed and noise from neighboring classrooms and outside construction sometimes made it hard to hear.

The location of this school is fantastic. It is situated very close to a lot of the historical and tourist attractions in Paris. This made it convenient for me to study French and see Paris as well.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Sylvia's class - Grammar and Listening comprehensions always followed by very informal conversations about topical issues and everyone got a chance to participate.
Other comments
I booked the intensive 30hr course and I was at A2 level. The course was excellent with two sets of classes with two different professors. The only thing I will say is that the morning class had more students some of whom were a little young and immature for me personally and somebody was late every morning.
