Positive aspects of school
The quality of teaching is very high. A lot of personal attention.
The location is great.
Negative aspects
Hmmm not much I did not like, but I saw some teachers struggling with the slow computer haha, maybe time to buy a new one. And it would have been nice to get some coffee next to tea during coffee breaks. Luckily there is a fine coffee shop 2 mins walking from the school

Positive aspects of school
We had massive health problems and were overwhelmed by the empathy of the teachers. The possibility of being able to consult a doctor at school, who not only organized the necessary clinic visits, but also accompanied us, was a huge help.
Quality of teaching / language progress
The individual lessons were very helpful in really practicing speaking. However, 6 hours a day are also exhausting: learning Spanish must really be the top priority of the stay.
Accommodation
The host mother was great and very caring. Unfortunately, another very eloquent language student was in the accommodation, so that the hoped-for language practice in everyday conversation was somewhat limited.

Other comments
Never ever again. Worst trip ever and cost us a lot of nerves because the manager (Celia) is not willing to help you with any problems.
City/place
I love Cuzco but this school is highly not recommendable
Quality of teaching / language progress
Horrible!!! The staff in the school is suuuuper unfriendly. I would never ever in my life book this horrible school again!!!!!!
There is no warm water for 40$ a night ?! And the Manager “Celia “ doesn’t care, she just said that I’m a liar and that was her solution of the problems. The walls in my single room were wet and there was a horrible smell in there. Disgusting! Completely overpriced ! This trip was the worst one I ever had and on top of these unfriendly people I paid a huge amount of money.
Accommodation
Horrible!
The man who is responsible for the house didn’t open the door and we had no key for the door. He was super unfriendly and made my trip to the worst one I ever had!
Response from school
Hi Lena. We are so sorry that you were not happy with your experience at our school. Of course, we already have discussed this extensively in Cusco during your stay. We’re sorry to hear you don’t have a good feeling about one of our staff members; I can ensure that we do our very best to make all our students happy and to solve every issue. That’s why we were on top of infrastructure issues as the hot water connections and your food requests. When you still weren’t happy, we agreed upon a full refund for the missed weeks. You even extended your Spanish courses for another week, and you actually gave a good review to our Spanish course (“ the school was good”) and to our Spanish teachers, cultural activities and tours. We appreciate that. We wish you all the best! The AMAUTA team

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Find the other students in the kitchen and plan fun things together. Look also outside Dos Manos when booking activities
Other comments
The collaboration with Dos Manos is, in my opinion, not of great value for Amauta.

The geographical location of the school, in the historic center. A small establishment on a human scale where there is very little in the class which is better to learn. Effective teachers!
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Cusco is surrounded by a lot of historical sites to discover if you pass by the area.

Bring warm clothing. There is no heating anywhere in the town. We got an extra heater from the family for our room because the nights are really cold.
