Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Go buy food at Pennymarket, it's cheap and good. View the town from Piazza Michelangelo. It's wonderful.
Other comments
Florence is fantastic but full of tourists, very expensive and - depending where you live - extremely loud. Don't forget earplugs. The weather is still nice well into October.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
The open-air pub (disco) "Le Murate" ("Vie di Fuga")is a great place. Hotel "Baglioni" has a nice terrace that offers a great view over Florence...so do Fiesole and Piazale Michelangelo.
Other comments
Florence is a very beautiful city. I felt really comfortable there - I only wish that I could have stayed longer. Our appartment was nice - a bit dirty though, but the location was gorgeous and we had the whole flat for ourselves. The school was less than a one minute walk away...and Ponte Vecchio (city center) was about a 5 min. walk.

For me 2 weeks were just perfect since my accomodation was not very clean. But for learning Italian I would have liked to stay at least a month. That would be perfect for a beginner.
