I had private lessons, instead of group lessons, because I was the only student of level 4.

There are no other activities organised by the school. The schedule of the lessons differed, day to day. This was no problem for me but should be taken in consideration.

I was in the same host family as a Dutch man. We share the same mother language, which is not so productive to learn the language. But I was very happy about the level at the school, it was very well adjusted. My teacher, Mehtap, was the best! The host family is very warm and friendly. We were treated like close family members!

Despite that there were only 2 beginner students and only 1 advanced student, they did their very best to give us the maximum benefit from the lessons. In fact we had private lessons.

I hope to attend the language school again next year.

Great atmosphere and quality teachers.

We were only two students in the group and the teacher was very good, so the lessons were very intensive.

Unfortunately, given that we were only two students, the numbers of lessons were reduced from 4 lessons per day to 2 lessons per day, for the same price of 340 euro for 2 weeks. At Dilmer you pay the same price for a whole month, so it was very expensive and we felt a bit deceived; apparently it was indicated in the small print that this would be allowed.

The EFINST school reduces the lessons if there are less than 5 participants, in my case only half of the lessons took place, neither have they informed the students in advance, nor have they given a discount. Even if the classes get more intensive, 2 hours per day are not sufficient.

The course was very small so you could learn quickly.

In leisure activities, I have given the lowest rating because the school offered no leisure activities. But then, it's just a language course after all.

High flexibility

The curriculum was not completely thought through, there were exercises and homework with vocabulary and forms that had not been introduced in class. Without a dictionary and your own imagination no chance.

Small classes!

I took the intensive two week beginner course of Turkish course at the EF Language Centre in Istanbul, and it was excellent. Especially because the classes were small (3-4 persons) and the emphasis was on conversations, which was most valuable during the rest of my stay in Turkey! (Normally I would prefer reading and writing.) I have to say I was really surprised by the level at which I was able to speak Turkish after only a two week course!!! Downside was that the airconditioning was never working properly, which made it hard to stay focussed (given that it was > 30 celsius).

You have to visit Büyükada. It's a very nice Island near Istanbul.
