Positive aspects of school
Prime location. Since I took lessons in the low season, the groups were very small, which is an added value to taking language lessons!
Negative aspects
Difference in quality of teachers. I had 3 different teachers, 2 of which were very good, but also 1 was less good (I was glad that I did not have this teacher for the entire period, the quality was a big contrast).
City/place
Very cool location!

Very organised, good location
Negative aspects
Didn't offer a pickup/drop off service by host family's just by the school at an additional cost - it was already the most expensive host family option Ive used out of 6. Also it is nice to be met by your host family
Accommodation
Lovely and very organised host but more like a boarding option than an immersion option. The host left the 2 meals a day on the table for you to eat at your leisure which also meant food was left refrigerated for extended periods.

Positive aspects of school
The atmosphere in the school was friendly and relaxed. The professor was very competent, thoughtful and willing to listen to the students' interests, including the content. The lessons were demanding but not overwhelming. The school is located near the sea. I liked that very much. I was able to improve my French and my enjoyment of the language increased. I wasn't interested in any afternoon activities, but I assume that surfing, for example, was nice.
Negative aspects
Some rooms are very small, so the indoor climate in them was not good.
City/place
Biarritz is characterised by tourism. The location of the town is beautiful.
Accommodation
I lived in a flat with my husband. The location was very good as it was quiet and not far from the school and the beach. The furnishings were a bit older. There was some furniture in the flat that we could not use. The washing machine did not work and there were problems with the drain in the kitchen unit. Overall, it still had a certain charm, so we accepted the accommodation.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
I was in a small group of 4-5 students. This gave a lot of opportunity to practice speaking and ask questions. The lessons became really individual and personal! The teacher had her laptop connected to a projector. If we didn't know words, she didn't just translate them, but showed us the pictures and explained it that way. I thought that was great! The lessons were regularly divided into a small grammar section at the beginning, then a lot of free speaking and practising and a small game at the end.
I really liked the fact that the surf lessons were organised through the school. It was stress-free and uncomplicated. You can surf every day except Saturday/Sunday.
Negative aspects
Unfortunately, the WiFi at the school didn't work very well. But it wasn't necessary for the lessons.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I did three weeks. It was perfect for me, but after three weeks of daily surfing and weekend excursions, I ran out of steam. You can always book more lessons on site and take individual lessons. You can also rent surfboards and wetsuits. There are several people at the school who went surfing without a surf course!
Quality of teaching / language progress
The surf course is every day except Saturday/Sunday.
The instructors are great! It still helped me to watch one or two YouTube videos of Kale Brock.
Accommodation
My studio had a fantastic kitchen and bathroom! There was an oven, microwave, freezer, kettle, cutlery, etc.. There were also plenty of cooking utensils! There was nothing lacking!

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Very nice, competent teacher. Small group and varied lessons.
Negative aspects
We had different language levels in the group. The school should pay more attention to putting students with comparable levels together.
City/place
Very expensive
Quality of teaching / language progress
A morning course is enough. After more than 3 hours of French, your head is spinning. An additional 2.5 hours of online lessons in the afternoon are really too much.
Accommodation
The flat was noisy and the details about the family situation were not correct. The host mother, on the other hand, was very nice. Nevertheless, if I had stayed longer than a week, I would have insisted on a change of accommodation.

Positive aspects of school
The location was great. Teachers were generally well organised and brought some interesting learning practices to the classes. Very friendly.
Negative aspects
Teams (Microsoft online platform) - huge problems with getting online. While they attempted to sort out the problem on-site, I spent considerable time trying to get the problem resolved.
Other comments
Overall, would be happy to recommend France-Langue.
City/place
Really liked the whole vibe of the place including the lovely beaches, great transport links, interesting places to visit etc.
Quality of teaching / language progress
As previously advised, the online classes were extremely problematic. Not sure that the system is suitable for everyone. I have considerable experience with Zoom but never with Teams and found it so frustrating.
Accommodation
Very comfortable and charming house with a lovely family. Chose to walk to school, which was under 1 hour each way but had option of public transport, which was about 10 mins.

City/place
Its accessible, nice climate, good food and safe.
Quality of teaching / language progress
As I was only there for one week there was only so much I could cover. Course was well delivered and fun. I enjoyed being part of the class. Would like to have done more "listening" to help with understanding the spoken language.
Accommodation
Our host was very kind and generous to us during the stay and looked after us so well. A truly lovely person in every way. Nice to let her know that.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The teachers were extremely committed to both integrating everyone at their own level and promoting them individually. In this way I was able to take the exam for a better DELF/DALF certificate than I had initially strived for. The integration of digital technologies into the classroom has also made learning easier and more varied. Finally, I liked the principle that there was a lot of oral communication in class.
Negative aspects
In contrast to the online courses, there were only one or two groups in face-to-face classes and thus a loose division into performance classes. Despite the efforts made by the teachers to provide us with various assignments, the conversations together were far more effective for some than for others. In one case, participation in several online courses has proven to be more successful. The change, however, was absolutely no problem. Furthermore, I understood that the school was a testing center. The bus trip to an unknown location in Bayonne did not create the atmosphere of concentration that should exist before an exam, but it was easy to manage thanks to the good public transport network.
City/place
Biarritz is a very beautiful Basque city whose traditions are recognizable. The coastline to the south exudes a certain charm with its steep slopes and the Côte des Basques is a great beach, but unfortunately only accessible for half a day. The Grande Plage is mainly used for tourist life, where it can get quite crowded in the high season. The weather is not so stable that Biarritz is the ideal place for sunbathing, but the waves there enable a unique surfing experience, which definitely makes up for a little wind or rain. The city is very well connected by buses and offers numerous restaurants.
Quality of teaching / language progress
The face-to-face French classes were extremely sociable and didn't feel like school. The afternoon lessons of DELF/DALF exam preparation, on the other hand, were much more demanding and really exhausting at the beginning, but they also led to greater learning success.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
That the transfer for French course + surf is free EXCLUSIVELY for the Biarritz airport (just 4 km) and not for others that are then the only ones with connections from Italy (something on the site and in the communications to follow FOR NOTHING INDICATED AT ALL). THIS COURSE SHOULD NOT BE PROPOSED TO ITALIAN CUSTOMERS OR SHOULD BE NOTIFIED TO THEM.

IT HAD BEEN PROMISED THAT FOR YOUNGEST PEOPLE (15 YEARS IN MY CASE) THE FAMILIES WOULD BE GRANTED NEAR THE SCHOOL. IN OUR CASE THE FAMILY ASSIGNED WAS THE MOST AWAY IN ABSOLUTE (1 HOUR AT LEAST GO AND 1 HOUR AT LEAST TO GO BACK). PROMISES NOT MAINTAINED (THEY ARE NOT OBLIGED BUT CONSEQUENTLY NEGATIVE AND DIFFUSIVE JUDGMENT)

I would like, that the teachers should have programs for learning for 2, 3, 4 weeks. I started with the subjunctive during the first week. I find that this is not the most important lesson. It would be fine to talk about everyday life, the school-system, the history or the habits, the conditions of this country to get used to the language and to learn important vocabulary you need everyday. With the written and oral tests, the school should see what lessons are important for the pupils and so they could organize the class.

As I said directly to the school management, you must do more to include all, regardless of age, and how long you are registered for a course.

The classification of the students should be more organized. There is too big a difference in level among the students. Also, the teachers should share the information of the students when there is a change in teachers.

Choose surf over the multi-sports option. I did both and would definitely choose surf again to learn even better.

It's useful to take a loose leaf folder/ file to classes to hold all the exercises done during the course and for all the 'handouts'. Invaluable!
