My problem was that I already knew quite a few words but could not use them. the private conversation lessons with the excellent teachers really made a huge improvement to my chinese.

This school focus more on speaking and accepts an "easy" way of studying. If you search for a serious fast way where you are forced to do a lot of studying, pick a different school.

As I was in China it was not high season so we were only 2 students in the first week and 3 students in the second week.

Send the "Welcome information" to the students in advance.
Other comments
I have the impression that the school stresses more teaching the spoken language and if anything was written than in 90% of cases in Pin-Yin. I wanted to learn also Chinese characters. In total I was satisfied and think I was tought by good teachers.

The very flexible schedule. They keep the school open the whole year. This school program suits better business men and University students.

Now they don't have a study room. The boss and teachers of this school are very friendly and help foreign students very much!!

Ensure, that if you stay in a Chinese family, at least somebody speaks a little English. Furthermore, ask for a host family, which leaves nearby the school.

Very nice teachers. Group classes and one-to-one lesson very good. Special Culture Lessons!!

Organized transfer from the airport very usefull, if you have never been in Beijing. If you will arrive in summer take good care about the air conditioning. Vitamins or sweaters are useable.

In any case of quetions ask Michel Wang leader of Global Exchange Education Center: He will help you very quickly!! Special services, very helpful and calmative. With his phonenumber in my pocket I felt anywhere in Beijing very safe.

It had a nice and friendly atmosphere and the teachers were very sweet.

Buy the six-ticket deal to the residences of Beijings famous personages - a facinating insight into the contemporary representation of China's modern history.

I had a lot of fun, enjoyed the lessons and the ma jiang, and appreciated the interest in the other things I was in Beijing to do. It's hard being away from your family but since I felt that I slotted into another one it was made more bearable.

I was only there for a week so I cannot judge perfectly. Due to SARS, we were only 2 students, so the lessons were very intensive.
