They should visit the Wild Animal Park near San Diego.

It's great there. Good atmosphere and nice people. And lots of Japanese.

friendly people and teachers, near to a trolley station
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Visit a good club (like the Safari Club) in Tijuana, Mexiko, it's the best place to party. The Americans go absolutly crazy in Mexiko!
Other comments
The school isn't located downtown, so it might take a while to get there, though there's a trolley station near to the school.
In addition, the school focuses more on beginners, i.e. persons with a low level of English proficiency.
