Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Good and enthusiastic teachers. Friendly and very helpful staff. Flexible with regard to level differences. Beautiful building on a lovely square.
Negative aspects
In low season there are fewer registrations and customization is less possible. But that's true for every school.

Chocolate cake!
Other comments
Great school, learned a lot in a pleasant atmosphere.
City/place
Nice, friendly, relatively small, safe city. And fortunately not as touristy as the major Spanish cities.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Had a great lesson. 20 lessons per week is a good number.

Warm welcome and super-motivated teachers, very nice location in the old city centre.

The lessons were almost exclusively in Spanish, which was very good. English was only used in extreme emergencies. The three teachers were consistent but also patient and made sure that you could follow along.

Positive aspects of school
Very good teaching, appreciation, nice, sympathetic teachers and students; wonderful kitchen where cooking also took place; activities outside the school.
Negative aspects
It was my first Spanish language school and I can't find anything negative
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I had not belonged to any leisure group. If you are looking for more contact, you should join a WhatsApp group.
Other comments
I would recommend the school to others.
City/place
I liked Cadiz as a city. Sometimes the dog dirt was too much for me. The city beach had a lot of plastic in the water at times. Despite everything, I would come again.
Quality of teaching / language progress
I had private lessons because I didn't know any Spanish. Maria made a lot of effort to teach me.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
There are lots of opportunities for conversation and gaining a confidence in the language. The teacher was super sweet and had a good feel for the needs of the class.
Negative aspects
I would welcome an exam at the end. The age groups are very mixed and you may end up in a group with older people (60+), which doesn't have to be negative per se, but may be less appealing to young people. However, the groups often change their composition, because someone joins or leaves every now and then.

Great location by the sea, but few interesting options for an afternoon hike.

Positive aspects of school
The location of the school is fantastic. The teacher was professional.
Negative aspects
My group was too big, sometimes up to 11 people. Students from 7-week courses were mixed with students from 2-week courses and 1-week courses. The ratio of grammar and speaking did not fit for me.
City/place
Cadiz is a very lovable and liveable city. Young and old mix together. Charming squares, the sea from different sides, great beaches and a very varied environment. The only drawback: the many cruise ships.

Very dedicated and friendly teachers who teach passionately and professionally.
City/place
Picturesque, clean and safe small town, with little disturbing car traffic! Lots of history, interesting buildings and a nice fish market where you can also eat tapas, in a pleasant location with friendly people. A good place if you like flamenco.
Accommodation
The price-performance ratio was not very satisfactory. Windowless room with an uncomfortable double bed for more than € 1000 for 4 weeks! In addition, a very dirty bathroom because it was shared by a worker who was busy in the stairwell. In order to be able to use the breakfast terrace shown in the photos, we had to clean it because it was also completely filthy and covered with all kinds of junk. Fortunately, the flatmates were very pleasant. They paid much less, although 2 of them were also short-term tenants.

Excellent. Thank You.
City/place
Now one of my favourite cities in Spain! Fantastic!
Quality of teaching / language progress
I had a really good time. Facilities were very good - I mean it would be great if there was a sit-in cafe but not essential . Also more free or low cost activities would also be good. Teaching by Silvia was very good and she was really supportive and funny. I had to stretch myself to keep up but that's what it is about , isn't it?
Accommodation
My flat had a great kitchen and bathroom. The bedroom was a bit chilly but I do see it is difficult with these older buildings as the windows are ancient. Very atmospheric house - loved it and flatmates were great. Big thanks to Angela for getting me a heater and hairdryer.

City/place
Lovely city. Not too big so easy to get around and locals very friendly. Far from other cities in Spain. Sunny but often very windy.
Quality of teaching / language progress
In general very good, but chose to take too many classes and found it very tiring so didn't benefit much from the individual class. Would have been better if I had a variety of different teachers. Not enough affordable after class activities.
Accommodation
The different flats varied a lot in quality but were all the same price.

The teachers were lovely and did a really good job - not easy with new students every week with different levels of ability in Spanish. The school is in a wonderful location. It was good to meet lots of different people from around the world.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Don't take one of the student flats if you value being comfortable. Ours was very sparsely furnished, with a tiny kitchen which could only accommodate one person at a time. It was noisy, and there were no curtains, blinds or shutters so the street lights shone in at night. Not a good experience at all.
Other comments
The price quoted was supposed to be for 20 hours a week but in fact we only had 15 hours of teaching a week, so that was or is, false advertising.

It is a beautiful building in a beautiful, central plaza in the center of a timeless city. The staff was friendly, professional and highly competent. The materials provided were excellent. I was very satisfied with the course in and of itself, and my age wasn't a problem either. The teacher who taught in my group was excellent. However, I would have liked more guided tours. Due to insufficient participants, not all of the planned excursions took place. This was also due to the fact that there weren't very many students at the school when I was attending the course. The food at the family I was staying with was excellent and the premises were very clean.

Other comments
I wish the school had organised some leisure activities organised, there was nothing going on. For example, city tours at the students' level, exhibition or museum visit outside of school hours. 60 to 90 minutes on some days would have been enough. Since my hostess worked a lot, I did not have many opportunities to speak Spanish. She took good care of me, cooked. The room, however, was very tiny, with a window to the corridor, so extremely dark and not comfortable.

Organisation was a little shaky. Also communication between students and the school regarding accommodation was a little thin.

I've done many language courses in Spain and Latin America in recent years (eg Barcelona, San Sebastian, Cartagena de India). The K2 International / Cadiz was definitely one of the better schools. The teacher was able to design the lessons very well and to be able to build and maintain a good focus on various topics. The accommodation I stayed in was very small - enough for a stay of a few days.
Other comments
The city is very nice but also very small. I would not go there for more than a week. After that, it could quickly get boring.

I enrolled in a Spanish course of +50 years but I was with 3 young people who were not 35 years old yet and a 50 year old lady (she left after a week). I paid a special senior price of 594 Euros for 2 weeks. However, regular intensive courses of 2 weeks (which I actually followed) would cost 360 Euros. If there were not enough enrolled for +50 years of my level, which I understand very well, the school should have told me before going to Cadiz and therefore m adapt the right price. This is not the first time that I do Spanish classes and the experience I would have wanted to be with people of my age especially for teaching adapted to our ages. The accommodation was very modest because a lot of things did not work (shower, microwave and TV broken, a single gas plate worked out of 4, well worn kitchenware see toxic, in my room there was not even a table, etc.). Finally after 10 days, talking with the owner's son, he repaired them. My roommates (2 Koreans and 1 Japanese did not dare because of their education). By cons the price is great!

Negative aspects
I registered for Jan/Feb and explicitly stated that I wish an accommodation with heating. Neither the accommodation nor the school was heated. After 3 days in the cold classrooms, they provided a small infrared radiator, but rooms were still cold and I never took off my winter jacket ... Because of the cold I had to change accommodation, but got only half of the money from the school back (school couldn't find me any equivalent accommodation with heating). So I looked at Airbnb and paid this separately (without breakfast/lunch incl.). Therefore earlier home than expected (almost 3 weeks). I was disappointed.

The second week class was of a very mixed ability and taught by a trainee teacher who was out of her depth. Not impressed. Normally when teachers are training their students do not pay, or pay very little, so for the regular course to be taught by a trainee was very unprofessional and unfair both on us and on her. Lots of the good reviews for the school are done by unpaid interns working for them, so don't believe everything you read.

It could be much easier, if there was a idiom list with the text book which we have used. Then we'll learn also the new words and idioms during reading/writing in the school/at home.
Other comments
They need to send out a questionnaire about the school and accommodation. When we could write/tell them directly what we think about. They can organize everything better. The impression of the accommodation is also very important for the school.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Apart from Cádiz--which really is a beautiful place--I liked a self-organised excursion over the weekend to Morocco. Other students went to Sevilla which is also easily accessible by either bus or train services. Cádiz is easy to navigate around and has beautiful architecture. If you can I'm sure it's worth to rent a car and to explore the beaches along the coastline. If you can't you still have the beaches in Cádiz & others that are accessible by public transport. Tarifa is also a good place to go to (1:45 hrs by bus).
Other comments
Well organised, they make you feel comfortable and are always friendly and helpful. I stayed at a shared apartment. I was a bit unsure if I'd like that but the experience was great! My fellas were very nice and easy to get along with. We cooked together, helped each other with learning Spanish and went out together at night if we wanted to. The flat was beautiful, although it seems to depend a bit on how lucky you are (I've heard that some apartments tend to be a bit on the smaller side). However, I have seen two flats and both were very nice and close to the school. If you're not that lucky it doesn't really matter because you propably don't spend much time in your room anyway. Life in Cádiz (Spain in general, propably) starts at night and you adopt their life style real quickly (siesta in the afternoon, late dinner, get up late etc.). Upfront I was a bit worried because I'm relatively mature (36 years). But my worries were unnecessary. Sure, most were younger. But in a way it didn't matter. It was nice to talk to different people of different ages (the majority in the 20s). But I felt that the atmosphere at K2 makes people of all ages feel comfortable. I would definately recommend the school and the place to everyone!
