Stairs were a challenge at first, but I got fitter, and I feel that after a month at the school, I was just starting to make some progress. It was certainly beneficial to me, as I now feel more confident to start and continue a conversation in French. I still need to do some more listening and responding practice though. I had a great time

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Stay at "1 Rene-Levesque" appartment hotel - it is clean, economical, <5 min walk to the metro and just outside the hotel is the bus stop for the new express bus to the airport (costs only $7 - must have exact change in coins). You can also walk to the school if you want. Free wired internet - bring your own cable.
Other comments
The only thing I didn't like about the school is that the first day, I was asked to arrive at 9:30 am for the placement test. As a result, I missed the first grammer class that was 2 hours I paid for but didn't receive language instruction.

I came to the school with a few years of informal French training (audio programs, an adult beginner French class, etc.), but seemed to have a much lower proficiency than everyone in the school when I arrived in May. Seems like it is a good idea to come to the school with pretty good basic French knowledge already. And two weeks for five hours/day (what I did) was good for improvement but not nearly enough to become anywhere close to proficient!

Other comments
The classes move quickly, but the material is not reinforced very well. That's OK if you're staying for months, but problematic for those who are only spending a few weeks at the school. Also, even though you technically can start any day, I'd advise anyone to inquire when the class cycles start. That way, true beginners aren't overwhelmed, and lower-level intermediates aren't bumped into the beginner's section because they enroll later in the cycle.

Point3 is the second French school I've visited in Montreal. Point3 is an excellent option for studying French in Montreal. Their school has excellent customer service and their instructors are incredible. Having been to other similar French schools both in France and in Canada, I can personally vouch for how good this school is. You won't be disappointed by Point3.

Montreal is a festival city in Summer, make the most of the Jazz and juste pour rire festivals. The intensive course starts at 2 and finishes at 6 in the evening. Make the most of the morning if you can. And take ALL the offered classes at the school and visits. They are worth it.
Other comments
If you are planning to learn french then make the most of the opportunity and speak it!!! the temptation to speak your mother-tongue should be avoided. The school does try to promote this but the students tend to resort to their own languages too much. There are plenty of things to do in Montreal, it's a great opportunity.

Aldan and Jonathan are the best teachers ever! Don't miss the chance to go to an English or French country! You can learn so much! It is cool to be confrontated with two different languages! But you should recognize that it is more useful to stay as long as you can! 2-3 weeks are too short! The activities were so much fun!
