The train ticket to Naples from Rome is only 11 €. From there you can easily go to Pompei and the beautiful city Sorrento with a daily ticket for the public transportation in Napels. It's a great trip for the weekend!

the atmosphere, the location and the teacher was absolutely brilliant! Christiano made me laugh during the class which was the best way to learn. other students were very friendly and I met a lot of nice people. Some of the additional activities were fantastic for example the wine tasting and the pronounciation lesson.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
when deciding on accommodation dont chose the host family. Its very rarely a real and traditional italian family.
Other comments
As far as I am concerned the host families and the houses should be viewed and verified on regular basis. while sending out information bout how to get to school there should be maps attached not only the number of the bus. Finding my bus stop took me about 8 hours of walkin around and getting lost uncounted amount of times, even my landlady didnt know where it is.

I stayed at the apartment rooms of Luca. I believe his last name was Sole. I would strongly suggest not place any young females there again. Though he never did anything explicitly, his constant presents and behavior made me and the rest of the young girls in the apartment uncomfortable.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I had 2 teachers on the course, although both were good, I like my second one much better. She was very enthusastic and broke up the 3 hrs with a lot of things, but not too much to overload us. I found both teaching syles extremely different and at completely different standards, so it was very overwhelming for me to go from one class into another!

The school should give the pick-up man at the airport at least a map and some preliminary info for us. Also, on the first day of school,it should organize a meeting with all new students to brief them about what to do, what not to do, where to go, where not to go,how the public transportation system works, etc. This would help integrate the students to the school much faster.

There isn't a library which I was surprised about and the Gustolab is closed (I was there Feb - Aug 09) so there isn't really a place to go to do homework or have access to reading materials. However the enthusiasm of the staff and the effort put in more than makes up for this.

Try to continue speaking Italian after class and where you are living to make the most of the experience. The school was centrally located but accomodation wasn't close. The course is well priced but extras (school tours, extra tuition etc) seemed expensive.

I really enjoyed the 2 weeks I spent there. MY only comment would be that I think a little bit of English from the teacher would help, would increase understanding in a much quicker time. Sometimes you just do not understand no matter how many different ways it is said in Italian. Overall I really enjoyed Dora's lessons.
