Additional information
Positive aspects of school
As there were fewer students at school just after the summer holiday, the school offered private lessons with a price of group course to each of us. I liked the clear and crispy attitude of the school director. As the management seems to be very flexible, I really liked it for the point.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
The teachers were young and seemed to have graduated from a university between 1 and 3 years ago. Therefore, they might not know the frequent-used business vocabulary. It may not a big issue for the beginners who want to study the language from the scratch. As most of the students came from Europe and their level was elementary, we spoke English after school.
Other comments
The school was good, but the accommodation was ok. I stayed at a dormitory which seemed to be more like a normal cheap hotel. It had some privacy and was safe, however was not very clean. I couldn't expect more than the Chinese standard quality. They offered bed sheets, but not towels.

the lessons are held in small groups (in my class eravano in 3), and this helps a lot the learning. The school teaching materials really exceptional. The students very young but very knowledgeable, helpful and with the same method of teaching.

For French-speakers, like myself, you should know in advance that everything is either in Chinese or in English. Alternatively, you might want a teacher who speaks French.
Other comments
I am happy because I made a lot of progress, but for people my age it's difficult. Private classes are a good solution as they allow you to go at your own speed.

Global Exchange Center in Beijing is a great school for those who are interested in learning Chinese. The teachers are all very interesting and bright and are for the most part excellent teachers. The classes are small and the materials and resources available for class are effective. I would definitely recommend this school for anyone traveling to Beijing and will myself return in the future.

I found Michael really helpful and committed in all his effort (even when when I got lost in the night and I had to call him). The location of the school is quite close to other schools-university and all the information received the first days helped me to socialize and get around in Beijing. I would only suggest the school to make a kind of selection about levels. I think there should be an "entrance-test" to understand each student level, and then group students in class based on their level.

The stay in Beijing was great. Besides my language improvements I liked to stay within a Chinese family and experience the Chinese culture.

Other comments
I had a lot of fun, enjoyed the lessons and the ma jiang, and appreciated the interest in the other things I was in Beijing to do. It's hard being away from your family but since I felt that I slotted into another one it was made more bearable.
