Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Since I took my course during off-peak dates, I had my teacher all to myself. Great! The teaching material is much better than what I know from Germany and I can say that the two weeks were a complete success.
Negative aspects
The school is located in a building in need of renovation, but the classrooms are in order.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
As long as it's still possible, be sure to visit the hills below the fortress with the old historic craftsmen's quarter. And don't be afraid of the stray dogs: they are fed and pampered and are extremely friendly and trusting.
City/place
Izmir is very beautiful. However, almost all of historic Smyrna, including its historic buildings, was lost in the fire of 1922, and what remains has unfortunately been left to decay for the most part. Efforts are being made to rebuild the remaining historic buildings according to preservation criteria. This will do the city a lot of good.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Getting into the language is difficult for Europeans. Especially the Turkish ending fetish takes some getting used to. So, don't give up.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Our teacher (Tuba) explained everything very well and with a touch of humour. If the grammar was too much for you, it was always explained in detail. I can recommend the school and my teacher Tuba highly! What I found very good was that it was a small class.
Accommodation
I stayed with Aysel and was very lucky with this accommodation and especially with my hostess. I can't imagine a better host family!!! The very best recommendation!

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
I was fortunate that I was the only beginner due to the effects of the Corona and had a dedicated, careful teacher. She was able to include my interests and so the week went by in a flash. I now have a certain overview and can use very simple conversation in everyday life. It would be good if the school had the technical means that you can also hear your own pronunciation.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Already written - technical equipment to be able to hear your own pronunciation (not only on the laptop).
Other comments
Everything simple and perfect
City/place
A very interesting city. A kind of Bologna of Turkey, just much, much bigger.
Accommodation
Mrs. A.B. is a great, respectful host! The way to school was brilliantly easy. The way back was difficult, whether by taxi or public transport. Many taxis don't have GPS. I would go there again anyway!

Positive aspects of school
I especially liked the central location, the teacher and the intensive language training, since I was the only student.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
The most important point when learning the language is that you know many words, so that the people in the host country can understand you and you them. As a tourist it is worth to go to Efes in Izmir, to use the Asanör, to go to Kariskaya by Vapur, to visit the ethnological and archaeological museum, and of course the bazar in Kemeralti. The local restaurants also offer very tasty vegetable dishes that you should give a try.
Other comments
Unfortunately, since I was the only student, there were no leisure facilities at all. But due to my great host family that was no problem.
