Additional information
Positive aspects of school
The strong point of the school is the teacher Giada who did a very professional job. She was pedagogical, interactive with good methods, exercises, reviews. She managed the group and class situation very well and took into account the development needs, skills and strengths of the individuals. However, do not have experience with other teachers than Giada. Very good behaviour also with the administration.
Negative aspects
The venue does not match the quality in comparison to Swedish standard but the beautiful building and the location in the centre of the old town is absolutely perfect.
City/place
Very good. Old, historic town with many activities. Beautiful surroundings, close to nature and easy to visit the rest of Liguria.

Other comments

City/place
I liked it a lot and I lacked time for everything it offers.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Nice teachers, little content, inadequate location, if I could have canceled it without penalty I would have done it; I told a colleague to come who came one day and did not come back.
Accommodation
The lady was nice, correct and polite. The room could be improved, cleanliness was good.

City/place
Genova is a relatively big and well located city. The public transport is great, so you can reach many interesting cities by train (really beautiful places). But the city itself is not really nice. It was dirty (specially the historical center) and, nowadays, it's full of foreign people, some of them working as prostitutes on the streets.
Quality of teaching / language progress
The school is small and simple, but the people are really nice. I would like to make an special compliment to Kristi, who is an amazing teacher :)

There was a big difference regarding the level of the students. For me, it was bad because I was in level one and in another class, in level three. It was a big problem because I could not get help. The teacher in the other class didn't give me time to understand.
Accommodation
It was hard for my legs because I had to walk up. For an older Danish person, it is very hard. I would have preferred to stay in the center close to the things.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
If you are ready to study grammar for 4 hours, this school is a great choice for you. They give you home work and then just check it during the lesson. The teachers are young. Do not expect to get any books, they'll just give you printouts during the lesson. The school organized very few free activities.... to meet other students. Do not agree to live at Mura delle Cappucine 38 ... it's not really clean there and they won't prepare your room for your arrival. Ask for rooms with windows that overlook the courtyard, not the roadway.
Other comments
Host administrators (director) of the school are very nice.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Genoa is a hilly city. Take all the ascensori and funicolari to see what is up there. There's lots to discover. Do things that you normally do at home such as going to sporting clubs or swing dancing. It's a good way to meet locals, make new friends and practice your Italian. Maybe you can even do something you've not done before.

The city has so much to see and if you get the 40 euro museum pass you will get to many of them. The Palazzi Rolli tour that is arranged by the school gets you into many of the places that a tourist isn't permitted.

The teaching is traditional, with a lot of emphasis on grammar and written exercises. I would have liked a specific conversation session every day, rather than just having some conversation built into the general morning programme.

Positive aspects of school
I was there for 2 weeks in November/December. Therefore, the classes were very small, 2 or 3 students. The level of the class was higher than mine, but they offered me a lot of help and options to learn. I had a great and ambitious teacher who invested time and energy to answer questions. I learned a lot and could have learned more if I had invested more time and energy but Genoa is a very interesting city! You can learn in 2 weeks as much as in 6 months in evening classes as home.

Positive aspects of school
The tour of the historic area of the city and the get-together at the outdoor restaurant/bar were enjoyable.
Other comments
Placement is by a written test; I think it would have been better if there had also been an oral & comprehension portion. The App. Luzzetti (monolocale) is not a one bedroom apartment but rather a one room apartment w/separate bathroom. The "bed" is a sofabed - no wifi so had to use the school's wifi.

Would have been nicer if we had an opportunity to get together with other students other than those in your class.

Small school, worked hard but there were only 3 levels, and I was between 2 levels. I was only allowed to change to a higher level, which fit me better, in the afternoon of the 3rd day (of total 5 days).
