How we create the points regarding what we like/dislike about a school

School ethos: Close to the city centre of Cardiff is Celtic English Academy, a school whose ethos is manifested in how their small class size, a maximum of 10 students, really helps students to learn with a programme more structured to their individual needs, in a safe learning environment.

Location: The location has everything you could need for a stay in this beautiful city, with shops, cafes and restaurants all around. The Blackfriars Fields, for the more active who want to get away from the bustle of city life for a few hours, is a 20-minute walk from the school and it also encircles the Cardiff Castle.

Getting around: The central train station, Caerdydd Canolog Cardiff Central, is 15 minutes by bus from the school and, for those wanting to explore further afield, is well connected to other locations in Wales. For those wanting to tick another country of the list, Bristol is just over 1 hour and 20 minutes from this station.

Course timetable: The courses are available in the mornings, afternoons and as part-time courses from midday. The general English courses, exam preparation classes for Cambridge and IELTS exams, English for work, Ladies only and Global Citizenship programme are run in the mornings. There is an afternoon General English class. English language skills, exam preparation courses for IELTS and Cambridge along with business English lessons are held as a part-time option from midday onwards.
  • The language school Celtic English Academy was founded in Cardiff, Wales in 2004.
  • Legal name / parent company: Cardiff Language School Limited

Simple and uncomplicated enrolment. The teaching staff were committed and you could always ask questions during the lessons. Good location, good lesson timetable. Please bear in mind that 2 weeks is too short to give a meaningful assessment.
Disliked
I chose a bad time. Exams were already taking place after 2 days. This should have been clearly communicated when I enrolled. But we found a solution for me to make up the lessons. The classrooms are small. The equipment could be a bit more modern. The school is very expensive and the lessons are too playful.

Other comments Sadly our accommodation was a disaster. Although the lady kept our rooms clean, the portion of food they gave us for breakfast was very small. In addition, we wanted an accommodation without pets, but this lady had an old cat :/ Also we wanted gluten-free food, but there was wheat flour in the bread we were eating for the BF. We had also blunt rules, but I can understand that.

The courses organization and the preparation of teachers.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss Every Monday they don't start again the courses from the beginning, so when you join the class you resume the program where they had left them. The entire course has a duration of three months, but already I I reworked all topics in only five weeks. There are two residences, identical structured apartment with private kitchen every 4/5 bedrooms and private bathroom. One is behind the school the other one is a littel bit far away, but it allows you to cross the city center doing a pleasant walk.

Other comments The first day is a bit chaotic, because I thought they were weekly courses but they are annual courses. You just join the class and study the weekly topic.

Other comments The organisation was poor... I received my accommodation information the day before. I had to ask for the emergency numbers by whatsapp... and my report wasn't ready the day I left. I was asking for it for two weeks before I got it... I think the poor secretary is really busy with all the enrolments, they should have somebody else to help him.
