Student opinions about Easy School of Languages, Valletta

Liked
I really liked the location of the school. It's really nice to walk around during the breaks and enjoy the amazing view of the sea and the entertainment centers and cafes of Valletta. The teachers I studied with were professional and great! Patient Brian, enthusiastic Bob and funny Ed. It was nice to meet students from different cultures and ages.
Disliked
I did not always receive an update about a sick teacher or a change in the location of the class and it was necessary to find out about this at the secretary. In addition, there were students who told me that they did not take the preliminary test, and I definitely noticed that there were classes in the morning hours attended by students whose level did not match the level of the class.

Quality of teaching / language progress: I have met teachers who teach and have almost no teaching experience. Although English is their mother tongue, they have not learned how to teach. It is important that they receive guidance because goodwill and charisma are not enough. I know that everyone goes through a course before they teach and also a test and you have supervision, but as a teacher for 20 years I think that if you want to be really professional you should invest in teacher training.
Other comments It is important for me to note that I really enjoyed studying with Brian, Bob and Ed.

Very good location. Friendly and committed teachers. You can always contact the director/school staff if you have any questions. Our teacher in the course was very good, the conversation part was not so useful as there were different groups together. The teacher was very good, it just wasn't a good fit in terms of the group mix.
Disliked
-The placement test was not good. I and another participant had "intermediate" as a test result, although I didn't receive any communication about the result. In the end, however, we were in the Advanced C1 level, and that was also suitable in terms of knowledge. - I didn't receive an information email or a timetable. Another student received the information email but no timetable either. - The course is only done with the course book. There were also games, but they were not very useful. A game about countries and flags - so I learnt that I'm bad at geography. But it didn't help my language skills. But otherwise the teacher was very good and explained a lot. - Conversation part, as already mentioned, was not so useful for C1 students, because we were also with B2 students, and some of them had a lower level.

The best thing I liked about this EASY language course is the perfect quality of teaching. We had a teacher named Bob. His PRONUNCIATION, way of teaching and VERY pleasant demeanor made me tell a lot of my good friends about this school and share this experience on the Internet. Thank you very much to everyone!
Disliked
Too small and also inconvenient smaller rooms for teaching.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss I recommend that every student remembers the purpose for which he came to the English course. It is certainly comfortable to talk to each other in your native language, but please always remember that you are here to improve your English. Speak English to each other! Quality of teaching / language progress: When I compare it with other schools and English language courses, I have to admit that EASY School surprised me a lot with the quality of teaching, the incredibly friendly relationship between the teacher and the students, and the teacher's approach to his profession. Great!
Other comments I greatly appreciate the care of the school administrators, who were always ready and able to help students at any time.

My English teacher Mia. I can't describe how good she is. Very professional... I feel very lucky to have had her as a teacher. Learned a lot from her. She has overshadowed all other deficiencies, she does her job very well. Headmaster got involved when there was a problem.... is also quite good.
Disliked
Most classes are small, cramped and lack proper desks.... Overcrowded... Armchairs with a plastic "table" hanging off the side like this.... Big minus... No study books only copies, black and white every day.... Messy way of learning, piles of notes... we wished we had a book instead of 100 notes....

Quality of teaching / language progress: The quality of the English course depends strong on the teacher. In 2 weeks I had 2 different teachers for a Grammar course and one teacher for a Conversation course. It makes a big difference by whom you will be taught. In the second week I had a more mixed group of nationalities and it was more fun to work with people from all over the world. You can not really choose the English teacher, because the school normally build the language groups after one placement test at the beginning of the course. The second teacher of mine was incredible good! Fantastic, prepared for each lesson and motivated to let us know about some tricky grammar and pronunciation rules. I learnt a lot in the second week, more than in the first one. And I was also able to improve my language skills and to reach the next language level. The classrooms were not really comfortable. Sometimes the air was not good. The biggest problem was the furniture for me. The school has some classrooms without tables, only with chairs. These chairs are not nice, the backs are too short. To sum up I had back-ache the whole first week during which we had to use this classroom.

learning is a little slow, if your level is above average, it will be boring at times. Often you have to wait for some students to figure it out)) a lot of time is wasted, and if you only have a week or two, it is a little expensive to wait ... very little spoken language! The teacher speaks most of the time. I met online with students who have been studying at school for a year, and so they practically do not know how to speak, barely. And in English, speaking is the main thing, unlike other languages.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss If your level is above intermediate, ask to be placed in the Advanced group so even in Upper intermediate most students are weak (practically do not speak)

Other comments I have no questions regarding the school. Everything is fine. There were issues with accommodation. The issue of heating during the winter months must be solved fundamentally (talk with the families about getting a heater or an AC). It was very cold in there, many students got sick.
