Student opinions about F+U Academy of Languages, Heidelberg

Liked
The most wonderful thing about the school is the professionalism of the teachers. I am specifically talking about my professor, Patricia Balazikova. Not only is she very professional but also a very kind and friendly type of person. Every day she never failed to not only teach us, but to also make the teaching fun and enjoyable. The professor also gives Literature once a week which had a really positive impact on my Education.

The teacher was great and used only German to teach from the first day of the beginner's level. My classmates were from many different countries. The school is pretty large with good facilities such as rooms to study in, Wi-Fi and computers outside of class. Heidelberg is a very nice University town and has an excellent study environment.

I took English and German courses. For me, my English lessons with Valeria were the best and had a great time. In general, the school pays attention to students and they are organized and have quick solutions if you have a question or problem. Also, Lots of culture together in the school. That was one of my favorite things.

Most of all I liked that my classes were taught by different teachers: I had an intensive course, with classes in the morning, afternoon, and evening. And there were different teachers each time. It makes the process of learning more diverse: each teacher has a different style, and this is a big plus.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss Try to arrive at the beginning of the course, because otherwise you will be placed in a group that has been studying for a while. If you choose accommodation at a distance of 40 minutes from school, keep in mind that you will be accommodated in the suburbs, and most school activities will not be available to you, since there is almost no public transport in the evening and on weekends.

Quality of teaching / language progress: Too many students per group and the dynamics of the lessons is not very high. I'd recommend to separate teenagers and adult groups. Teenagers are cool, but they don't pay for their education themselves and don't really value the time. And, please, more exercises with speaking.
Other comments I definitely recommend F+U to other students!

Quality of teaching / language progress: Was twice at premium courses. Both times the teachers gave what I needed. Each has its own pros and cons in teaching: the first time they devoted a lot of time to speaking (!), And the second time they hardly spoke, they just listened to the teachers and sorted out the grammar. Replacing teachers (at the time of the absence of the main one) did not suit me at all, especially Klaus (time and money down the drain). She took private lessons from Korina. I was very pleased !!! It is also not clear by what criteria the test is conducted at the end of the course. They give so little time that there is no time for reflection and correction ... Only you have time to read the assignment (((Well, of course, a low test score is not a reason not to transfer the student to the next course. This may only be recommended!
Other comments In general, the school is quite happy (if you do not forget about your rights!). I plan to return for the third time)

Quality of teaching / language progress: Overall it is an enjoyable experience to be in the C1 class of this institute, the administration staff is very helpful for arranging student activities and handling cases about accommodation. For buying course materials, I think the school can provide book list for prospective students prior to beginning of the class, and the option of on loan or buying a new set should also be stated clearly.
