Location: The campus is perched on the side of a mountain overlooking a beautiful sandy beach. All are just 20 minutes from the city centre.

Additional information: Taiwan’s second-largest city and one of the largest container ports in the world, Kaohsiung (高雄; gāoxióng) makes the ideal introduction to Taiwan. It’s a modern megacity blossoming with authentic Taiwanese culture.

Its architectural and historic sights are enhanced by a large number of lush parks, outdoor cafés and bars, art galleries and museums, two swimming beaches and 1200 sprawling acres of pristine forest within the city area– all linked by a spanking-new transport system. The older districts of Zuoying, Yancheng and Cijin Island contain plenty of historic sights along with a smattering of traditional snack stalls and multicultural cuisine, while modern Kaohsiung is best taken in with an evening stroll along the Love River or True Love Pier or perhaps a visit to soaring 85 Sky Tower close to its bustling shopping districts.

Their dedication and professionalism are forever etched in my memory as: I was a last-minute registrant, I had specific aims for this linguistic journey and some specific interests for the cultural section of the program! I appreciate all the hard work that Director Nic and this staff put into fulfilling it all ...despite the very short notice. Their thoughtfulness when from coordinating my pick-up from an out-of town area to ...working hard to see about the delivery of a special cultural component I was interested in ...and even on a Sunday!! Also the lodging was very well chosen and thus made the logistics of getting timely to and from class class very convenient.
