This course is for a duration of 3 terms minimum and is based around the A Level style of learning. A levels are a way to assess university entry, so this course will provide international students with that same opportunity.
It is possible for those with a lower level to attend the course, however, they will need to join an extended foundation for 4-7 terms.
A-level quality. Fast track results.
The Advanced Level Foundation course is rigorous and demanding because it compresses a 2-year A-level into one intensive year. This course is for:
- Academically able international students who want to progress to a very good UK university.
- Students who have completed 11 to 12 years of school in their home country.
Programme content is tailored specifically to the needs of international — rather than UK — students.
A-level quality
The one-year Kings Advanced Level Foundation is based on A-level syllabuses, assessed against A-levels and taught by A-level teachers, many of whom hold a PhD or equivalent.
A-level subject flexibility
You don’t need to take subjects in set combinations. Just like A-levels, you can combine subjects in any way to suit your strengths and interests.
Exceptional university acceptance:
Top UK universities understand the quality of the Advanced Level Foundation and the students who successfully complete it. Universities accepting students from this programme include: - University of St Andrews
- Durham University
- London School of Economics and Political Science
- University of Warwick
- University of Leeds
- University of Exeter
- University of Bath
- University of Birmingham

Kings
“I fell into EFL teaching while travelling in the Bornean jungle. I was thrust into a classroom at a local high school as the first native teacher of English the children had ever encountered. Although I had no idea what to do the smiles on the pupils' faces and the pride at seeing some progress in their English speaking in that first 30 minute encounter inspired me to work in this field. One thing all English language learners have in common is the sense that they will create a better future for themselves by improving their English language proficiency. The part that I play in that whether big or small, direct or indirect, is what inspires me to work in this sector. I get real satisfaction in knowing that I have made a positive contribution to the life goals of many individuals and groups and continue to do so every day.”
