Location: The school is in the College of Mount St Vincent, a renowned private college in New York. The college is found in the borough of New York known as The Bronx, to the north west in the North Riverdale neighbourhood. This is a residential area of The Bronx, bordering Van Cortlandt Park on one side and the River Hudson on the other. To get to the centre of The Bronx, students can take a number of bus routes from the stops around the school. It is here that the New York Botanical Garden is.
Exploring New York’s Attractions: Students can reach the Ludlow Train Station in 11 minutes by bus. This station has the Hudson Line, which stretches down the coast of the Hudson River, all the way to Grand Central Station in Midtown Manhattan. This train ride takes 30 minutes. Alternatively, there are a number of bus routes that reach this part of New York in around an hour and 15 minutes. Once in the centre of Manhattan, it is easy to visit its main features including the Empire State Building and Times Square. Students can use the various subway stations to navigate to Lower Manhattan to see the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge.
Course structure: There is a selection of general English courses at Kings in New York. The school offers a vacation course for those who want to extend their general course and include an excursion or optional activities to add to their learning experience. A TOEFL package, Diploma course and academic preparation programme are available for students wanting to further their education. This junior program is held on the campus of the College of Mount Saint Vincent, 30 minutes by train from Grand Central Station. It includes 15 hours of English per week, room and board, plus a full program of sports, activities and 3 full-day excursions.

This course enables students to transfer directly to the first year of a US undergraduate program. It combines English language and academic study skills with extracurricular projects.
Entry requirements: students must have completed high school with documented proof of good grades. They must have an English language level of TOEFL iBT 20+.
Students can take the course for 1 to 4 terms. Each term is 11 to 13 weeks long. Tuition price is per term.
The GO: Prepared Program is specifically designed to prepare you completely for degree-level study at a Top 100 University. It includes English language development, college credits, academic skills, university visits, and a Global leadership course.

This course is designed to improve students’ overall English language proficiency, build academic vocabulary, and enhance student performance on academic tasks in all four sections of the exam.
The course includes 20 instructor-led TOEFL skills lessons, 4 guided study sessions, and 7 targeted online practice sessions per week. Students will be expected to complete at least 5 hours of self-study assignments each week. Students are responsible for booking their own exam dates. Test fee is subject to change and is not included in the price.
Ideal for students who want to prepare thoroughly for the TOEFL test and achieve their best possible score. Kings recommends that students begin training at least four weeks before they take the real exam. Every student takes an online test preparation course in conjunction with his or her regular classroom hours. This online component focuses study on the parts of the tests that students often find the most challenging, the speaking and writing portions. All practice tests are timed which assists students in getting used to the time pressure of the tests.
The course content provides daily opportunities to practice for the test using authentic questions and listening and reading materials from actual TOEFL tests. Students also regularly practice under exam conditions to develop timed test-taking strategies. Students are able to practice speaking with a headset and microphone and are given many timed writing assignments.
Continuous assessment helps students check their progress towards their goal and see their own improvement on a regular basis. Students begin with a diagnostic test and are then measured on a weekly basis with assignments, participation, and assessments. They have online access to one full-length test per month during their course and hundreds of practice exercises. Students can review their incorrect answers with detailed explanations of the correct answers.

Living with a local host family is the perfect way to experience family life in your new country first-hand, and gain a deeper understanding of American culture. You will also have the opportunity to practice your English with your new host family outside of class.

- Kings’ students will stay in dorm-style residences on the beautiful riverside campus of the College of Mount Saint Vincent, with gorgeous views of the Hudson River.
- Students will be accommodated in double rooms in one of the on-campus residences, 1–2 minutes’ walk from the College's main administration building, Founders Hall, where the Kings New York office and teaching center are located.
- The residence halls have shared hallway bathrooms, and there are separate floors and sections for male and female students.
- The updated residence halls offer lounges and kitchen with TVs and vending machines, as well as study areas on most floors. The first floor of the residence halls offers an open gathering space equipped with a TV, lounge furniture, and a ping-pong table.
- The College’s state-of-the-art dining hall, Hudson Heights, is located less than a minute walk away. The modern dining space, which remains open all year-round, features a variety of culinary offerings for students and the Mount community.
