How we create the points regarding what we like/dislike about a school

Location: ACET/Cork Language Centre International is located in the bustling city of Cork, Ireland. Housed in the Victorian Quarter in the centre of Cork, the school is surrounded by restaurants, cafés, shopping centres and has both train and bus links within walking distance. Close to the banks of the River Lee, the surrounding area of the school is well known by "foodies" as having multiple excellent options for dining, Cork being hailed by many as the Food Capital of Ireland. Students have everything they need to enjoy the city in comfort whilst reaching their language goals.

A family-run school, with over 45 years of experience in providing English as a second language tuition, ACET/Cork Language Centre International has all of the resources and qualified teaching staff to assist students in reaching their language goals, in a positive and friendly environment.

School facilities: The school's facilities include a cafeteria, full use of the kitchen for students, a computer lab, free after-class language learning software, a movie room, a games room, a garden and a student support desk for any questions or queries that may arise. All classrooms are equipped with heating and have ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment, while most have access to electronic whiteboards and televisions.

Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 60 €. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.

Other comments I think the break is really too short. Every day we were struggling to go to the bar and maybe go to the bathroom, since for both of them there was the queue. So that every morning half of coffee was automatically thrown away. I would add 5 minutes.

Quality of teaching / language progress: Over my 4 weeks I could have progressed in a group more quickly but I did not have any request from the teacher (you had to ask) and I did not know it. I could have progressed faster in a higher level from week 2. It is my only frustration not to have been longer in a group of level B1.

  • The most intensive course offered by ACET consists of 26 lessons/week: 20 lessons of General English in the morning + 6 additional lessons in the afternoon which focus on practical communication skills and the learning experience.

    In addition, there is a further 30 lessons per week divided into 20 group lessons and 10 private lessons.
