This is a specialist language and intercultural training course which improves English and increases awareness of cultural diversity. It develops skills for communicating and working successfully with people from a range of cultural backgrounds. This course is a good choice if you would like to combine 4 weeks of pre-course online-learning with a 1 week professional English course to develop your intercultural awareness, and business skills while practising English at Anglolang.

The optional 4 week online-learning phase precedes the course and includes both language and culture based activities. Personalised individual feedback from Anglolang tutors is included as well as a questionnaire which helps us to tailor a course to suit the specific needs of each group.

The online-learning phase focuses on exercises to increase your cultural awareness as well as language development exercises for meetings, presentations, negotiations and telephoning. It is a highly intensive Cambridge English course in small groups of 8 students maximum who are all preparing for the Cambridge exam.

This intensive English and golf course is perfect if you want to join a group course to improve your English and play golf in the afternoons. Intensive English lessons take place in the morning, providing plenty of time each afternoon for golf.

  If you join this English + Golf course, you can play golf at North Cliff Golf Course and South Cliff Golf Course or Snainton. Both North Cliff and South Cliff are approximately 2 km from Anglolang, whereas Snainton golf course is approximately 8 km away.

CLIL stands for Content and Language Integrated Learning and refers to teaching subjects such as history and geography to students through a foreign language.

This introductory Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) course is for teachers who are currently teaching, or preparing to teach, an academic subject in English. Academic subjects include Geography, History, Biology, Economics, Citizenship, to name but a few. Morning sessions focus on language development where participants gain confidence in using English. The afternoon Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) methodology sessions introduce fresh and communicative approaches to teaching your subject through English.

This course uses a wide variety of communicative activities to develop language competence and also builds students’ confidence in teaching through English. Participants will have the opportunity to expand specific subject vocabulary as well as participate in practical group methodology sessions which provide them with ideas and materials that they can use upon their return to their own country. This course uses a wide variety of communicative activities to develop language competence and will also raise participants’ awareness of how technology can be used in the classroom. Participants gain confidence in using technology through practical sessions which equip them with ideas and materials that they can use upon their return to their own country. They will take part in seminars, workshops, lectures, open discussions and a study visit during term time (e.g. a primary school, a secondary school, an FE college or a training and enterprise organization) or a place of cultural interest (non-term time).
