Student opinions about Arabic Language Center, Cairo
Ina-maria
21 years“The organisation was very good. The people from the school helped where they could, and they could always. The apartment was very big and so was my room. They always managed to give me more than I expected. Another good thing is, that you can go to the internet in school, whenever you want. They give you a cellphone with a prepaid card so anyone can call you and you feel less lost (and safer) in that big city”

I enjoyed very much because I could talk about each country and understand the difference. He took me for sightseeing after school. We visited many monuments such as the Great Pyramid at Giza”

Other comments Both the school and the apartment where you live are in the center of a residential area, so it is possible to experience real Egypt. Being close to a subway station and big streets, it was very easy to access to downtown and convenient for tourism. The neighbors were really friendly and kind also.

“International meeting point of extraordinary quality”
Insider tips about what future students should not miss I made a quite pleasant experience with taking the minibus to the Metro station. "Taxi" is often the only English word taxi drivers know and they do not have any knowledge/imagination of a street map. Although the school/apartment is very close to the President's palace one should think, taxi drivers would recognize the place on a map! But instead they try to read the name of the street in Western letters.

Other comments The Arabic Language Center is a small but a very fine school where you'd like to go to. Organization and teaching meet international standards in an African city. As a real beginner for the Arabic language you should be aware that you have to practice a lot at home.
What I particularly liked very much was the internationality of the students which was maybe due to the starting date of the course: 24.12.04: German, Swiss, Italian, American/Iranian, Portuguese, Pakistani and Japanese. Being in an apartment with 3 other women we spoke all together 9 languages. I personally speak fluently English, French + Italien; Arabic is my 4th foreign language.
Leisure organised by the school depend on the interest of the students.
