The ability to let you feel like at "home". I arrived there completely alone and after a couple of days, I met a lot of people that became my friends with whom I still keep in touch. This is thanks to the amazing social activities of Fran. It was really amazing experience!

The quality of the teachers
Insider tips about what future students should not miss Doing a Full time course, in my opinion, is not worth it. You are too tired in the evening and you cannot focus properly. The speaking class is not worth it because all you do is talk to your classmates (who are likely to make the same mistakes) and the teacher cannot correct everybody. Besides, Basil Paterson, Edinburgh, offers a teaching course for English teachers and you can sometimes get free conversation classes during their training.

Other comments Ask the school to give you a signed document (by the family) where their obligations are clearly specified. So that you ensure that the family is on the same pace and you avoid possible misunderstandings at a later stage. I mean: meals during the weekend, cleaning service twice a week, linens and towels, possibility to use the television lounge...For the families, this is just business, and some of them only offer you a room and meals and that's it. Do not expect them to give you conversation. We expect them to chat with you, watch tv, etc., and in many cases, they don't do that.
