General Information on Biarritz
Biarritz is situated on the southwest coast of France in the French Basque Country. The high Atlantic waves make it a true surfers paradise. According to the most experienced surfers it is one of the best places to surf in the world. The surf culture can be found throughout the whole city. You will see shops where you can buy or rent surf boards and clothes everywhere. The city centre of Biarritz is classy, with a white promenade, exclusive shops and pretty old buildings. At night you can enjoy the many restaurants or bars or visit the huge casino. In the rocks of Biarritz there is a cave, called the 'Chambre d'amour'. It's been said that a couple making love in this cave didn't notice the upcoming tide and drowned... Biarritz is also know to produce some of the best chocolate in the world.
