The language school Canadian as a Second Language Institute (CSLI) was founded in Vancouver, Canada in 1992. CSLI is located in dynamic Yaletown, the newest and trendiest district of downtown Vancouver. In addition to being close to the Vancouver Public Library, bus stops and other central conveniences, we are located just a few minutes walking distance from Yaletown station, providing direct skytrain access to and from Vancouver International Airport. The school is located in 188 Nelson Street, Vancouver, V6B 6J8 Vancouver (Canada).

| Designed to focus on two key elements of language acquisition: listening and pronunciation for the development of clear speech and discrete listening skills, thus improving overall communication skills. Through intensive listening exercises, students can improve not only their comprehension skills but also their vocabulary, usage of natural English, and pronunciation. | For university-level-reading students to help them transform their passive vocabulary, words which they can understand if read or heard, into active vocabulary, words which they can readily use in their own writing and speaking. | In addition to test-taking strategies, the course covers important language points and skills drawn from materials relating to English Assessment tests such as TOEFL, IELTS and Cambridge. Students will focus on improving their reading, writing, speaking, grammar structure, and listening skills to match the specifications of these tests. Those students who are preparing for Cambridge Exam are required to take a minimum of 5 hours/week of private lessons to focus intensely on the specific skills needed for the exam. | ||||||||||

| The objective of this program is to give students a hands on opportunity to use all the skills needed in any business situation. A wide range of activities, including discussions, role-playing and presentations, is used throughout the program to encourage communication among students. | This course is for students who want to teach or tutor English in their own countries. Students who successfully complete this program will receive a CSLI TESOL Diploma. The course itself includes a study of various teaching methodologies, classroom management skills, lesson planning and development, practical correction techniques, student and textbook assessment, and motivation skills. Students will have the opportunity to make classroom observations and practice teaching, and will be required to give numerous individual and team presentations. This is a 4-week course with tentatively scheduled start dates that will depend on student demand. | ||||||||||

| Designed to focus on grammatical structure, vocabulary building, reading comprehension, writing skills and overall improvement of communication skills. In this class, a wide variety of reading texts are studied in detail. Each article includes a vocabulary list and comprehension exercises.
