Student opinions about Centro Italiano, Naples

Liked
All employees, from Anna and Mariangela from the front office to the 3 fantastic teachers (Tina, Francesca and Mery) were extremely courteous, friendly, patient, very nice and absolutely recommendable. I have never had such empathetic, committed and patient teachers! I didn't lack anything, everyone was there for me. Whether questions about language, culture or tips for excursions, they have always helped me, even in times of Covid-19 and the lockdown.

Firstly, the school is situated in the historical center and the building is a "palaccio Napolitano", a wonderful and typical habitation. Then, the quality of courses is excellent because they are tailor-made for foreign students. Teachers are completely used to different nationality and provide a dynamic interaction all together. The rhythm is fine. It's intensive but pleasant and focused on communication which is very useful for beginners.

Excellent teachers and education. Visible context and cohesion between days which gave a development in their teaching and a progress among students. They were skilled to get the students to speak and participate during lessons. it was not high season (peak) maybe that’s why we were a small class 4 to 5 students a day during the week.
Disliked
The school was situated at second floor and the stairs isn’t made for people with any kind of walking problems. Maybe there is an elevator I don’t know. If its possible to have a wish : It had been extraordinarily with any kind of lounge , just a small room with a comfortable chair/couch etc.

There is a very friendly and informal atmosphere at the school. The teachers are committed and are happy to help the students outside of class. Classes are small and lessons are adapted to the strengths and weaknesses of the students.

Disliked
The one-to-one lessons were annoying for me. I had expected conversation - albeit at a very low level - to be offered. Unfortunately, instead I almost only filled in sheets - using the right verbs, conjugating ect. That's not exactly "super" for a fortnight. We "talked" very little; this was also due to the fact that the teacher (she was very nice!) did not know English.

The facilities (blackboards, classrooms) are a bit old-fashioned, although they have their charm. We were not able to take the cooking course we were looking forward to.

Super friendly teachers. Sympathetic to the needs of the students.

No real excursions, and very noisy classrooms with church bells (ok, part of the experience but after 2 weeks, it gets annoying). I would have enjoyed a pizza making class, a workshop on coffee, an excursion to Pompeii, etc.

Other comments The first morning was a bit awkward. We were sitting for an hour not knowing what was happening really. Would have liked a better welcome and better information. This time we could have used for looking at the week's activities and excursions organised by the school. The information given later ”drowned” in other papers.
