“They were super friendly and helpful. Some cultural excursions were interesting, others less so. The guide was great. I learned a lot and saw a lot of Semana Santa.”
“The fact that I wasn’t in a class with people my own age. Or at least people in their 50s and older. There was also a lot of disruption in the class. Some people (younger students, that is) would show up halfway through the lessons, while others didn’t show up at all. So there was a lot of turnover, and we even got a different teacher after just one week. We had to pay extra for the Saturday field trips. Those were really good and interesting, though, with excellent guidance.”
Insider tip: “The Saturday excursions. But there were also some very bored young students there. So I'm not sure if that's the right fit for them.”
Quality of teaching / language progress: Unfortunately, not in a class with people over 50. The Culture course was mostly interesting. There were indeed people over 50 in that class. The Saturday excursions were open to everyone and required an additional fee. The price included a textbook that wasn't used.

“I was absolutely delighted with the teacher Isabella (‘Chiqui’), her organisation of the lessons and her pedagogical skills. I also really liked the composition of the course. And also Martin, who advised me, with whom I had personal contact and his excellent reliability.”
“For me personally, the walk to school was a bit long, but that was probably due to my current mobility restrictions.”

“Modern. International. Easily accessible. Supermarket, café and bakery in the immediate vicinity.”
“1. there was no textbook during my 2 week course (and even if there was, not worth it for 2 weeks), so only photocopies.
2. now my very personal opinion, teacher dependent: Beginners. Within the first few lessons, the teachers try to get the students to speak at an academic level, but with all the grammar. This only leads to frustration, regardless of whether you can keep up or not. Secondly, also very personal, I felt discriminated against by the teacher's very personal indiscreet questions and remarks.”
Quality of teaching / language progress: Too much. I did it because it is necessary for the Bildungsuurlab.

“Some teachers try to compensate at least partially for the disadvantages resulting from the poor organisation of the school through personal commitment.”
“The lessons are taught frontally. The opportunities that arise from small classes (there were two of us!) are not used ... Furthermore, Clic is very poorly organised. As a result, he has to improvise constantly, which is usually done in a very shirt-sleeved and short-sighted way. Clic's demeanour is arrogant. Not recommendable.”

“It was a great experience. Competent and very friendly teachers who structured the lessons well. And the afternoon activities were great too. I will gladly come again. :) Clic is a great place to go! A very organised school and Cadiz is a beautiful city. It was a lot of fun. Thank you! :)”
Quality of teaching / language progress: I felt well looked after in my course with my A1 beginner level. Well challenged but not overwhelmed. There was a lot of input but still well structured.

“Professional teachers and support staff”
“Nothing”
Insider tip: “Just wander about the historic centre and switch google maps off- really enjoyed walking in the streets”
Quality of teaching / language progress: None, I appreciated that I was put in a mixed class but not with very young students which I would not have enjoyed
Other comments: Better coffee machine!

“We had an excellent teacher. Very pedagogical and motivating. Chicki is the best !”
“Too small classroom: (Nr 6). Too hot and bad air quality. The AC was not effective. Very much noise from the street. Impossible to acknowledge talk with the windows open.
A bit too short lunchtime. Should have been 30 minutes, not 20. There should have been a water dispenser. We should have gotten a weekly schedule, so one could prepare before the classes.”
Quality of teaching / language progress: Very good. After two weeks it was possible to hold a conversation.

Insider tip: “Unclear question, are these sites or others in the city or in the organization of the course?”
Quality of teaching / language progress: Very impressed with Chiquita's level of education both during and outside on excursions
Other comments: I will definitely recommend this school to those who want to progress in Spanish in a pleasant environment.

“Friendliness of tutors”
Other comments: I found the pace of the classes quite slow and would have appreciated optional homework, spoken and written, on everyday situations, eg, at a lost and found office, to be assessed/marked by the tutor. Also more reading and listening to short texts, followed by questions and discussion in Spanish.

“The bathroom was very nicely lit”
Other comments: the lessons were boring, teaching methods hardly ever varied, "learn vocabulary at home" (why do I pay money???), the subject matter was repeated too little and the lesson was not well prepared: easy grammar took too long (e.g. time of the clock), difficult grammar too short! Surroundings: too much noise, unpleasant odors from outside, uncomfortable, no opportunities to meet with students of other classes.

"The studio on the top floor was probably the best in the whole house. (The window to the shaft was the highest compared to the lower floors, almost in the fresh air). Unfortunately the whole house was too humid, all my clothes were constantly damp, I often had to dry them with a hairdryer. Positive: great terrace, washing machines and lines to dry on the terrace.

"The accommodation was great and the staff were excellent and very helpful in providing anything we needed. The only issue would be that the beds are very squeaky when you move in them and not super-comfortable. But I guess they're fine for a week, I was there for three weeks so I noticed this more.

Questions and answers about clic International House

Are the lessons and activities of the 50+ course always exclusively for 50+ students or is there a mix of ages?
“We usually have 2 or 3 exclusive senior groups but if a student has a higher or lower level than the rest of the group, they will be placed in a group of their level, which could be with other students under 50. The activities will only be for the 50+ group. ”
Marina De Saint Sauveur, Administración from CLIC International House Cádiz - Dec 31, 2024
There are two of us travelling to Cadiz from Seville airport. Can we share the cost of the airport transfer or is it really per person?
“The cost of the airport transfer can be shared between the two students.”
Alba, Administration from clic International House, Cadiz - Nov 09, 2023
Can I park close to the school? If so, what is the cost for this?
“There are a few free parking spots close to the school, but they are very often occupied. However, there are plenty of other paid parking spaces in the city. The cheapest is Parking Muelle Reina Sofía for a minimum of around EUR16 per week. This option does involve a longer walk (27 minutes walk to the school). ”
Marina, Administration from clic International House, Cadiz - Nov 09, 2023
Does the residence also have a canteen with lactose-free food?
“No. In the residence, there are apartments with integrated kitchenettes and apartments that use a communal kitchen. Here, each student buys their own food and has a fixed place to store it.”
Martin Zakostelecky, LanguageCourse.Net - Jun 14, 2023

FAQ about clic International House, Cadiz

I am worried about the number of participants in my class. The school couldn't tell me yet (the course starts in 3 weeks from now).
“It is not surprising that the school does not have this information yet, as many students have yet to take the language tests. These are often taken 1-2 weeks before the start of the course, because you can of course still study and advance in level in the meantime. Once all the results are in, they will allocate the groups.

The school will always make sure to place you in a group that best suits your level. If there are not enough participants for the group you need, they will convert your lessons into a reduced number of private lessons. ”
Robin Rebecca Pietersma, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - May 09, 2024

The evaluations by students after they complete a course is excellent. The discount for using your website is also a great incentive. It also would be wonderful if the website would include more cities and a bigger selection of schools in each city.

The service of languagecourse.net is great, I booked already 3 schools and I can highly recommend it. In fact, I tell everybody I meet on my journey in South America about this website and how well everything is organized.

I am very satisfied. I found more/relevant information on your webpage than on the school's website itself. It is the cheapest offer. I'm going to book my next course on your site soon.

Your service was excellent, really following up and holding my hand.! My older step-brother used your service a few years ago to study Spanish in Salamanca and Granada and we found LanguageCourse.Net so helpful then as well.

Just keep up the good work. The organization is excellent, so that even less experienced travellers would feel ok to come to China. I also felt really good in the host family, they were really great!
