“The language trip was organized through "Languagecourse.net" and was super easy and straightforward thanks to a dedicated German customer service agent. All questions were answered in advance. The school itself is highly professional, superbly equipped, and the teachers are fantastic. The afternoon activities were even organized just for me and were entertaining and varied.”
“Nothing.”
Quality of teaching / language progress: Lessons tailored to your individual level, professional teachers, super motivating.

“The atmosphere is very informal. The people who work there are extremely friendly. The headmaster, Zayd, is incredibly helpful and takes the time to clarify things. In my case, it was the shared taxi transfer from Cabo Negro to the school and back, which apparently only locals can understand. But if you know how it works and where the stops are, it's easy to get to school. I would like to come back again to attend a more advanced course :)”
“I cannot and would not like to complain. Overall, everything was very satisfactory.”
Quality of teaching / language progress: At school, I spent a week learning the local dialect and gaining some initial insights. You don't need to expect to be a pro after one week as a beginner. That's why I'm planning to do a more advanced course at a later date.

“I had private lessons with Ismail, a really friendly and flexible teacher who adapted exactly to my needs.
The location of the school is very central and the classrooms adequate.”
“Some of the course materials were faulty and poor copies. However, because I had my own documents with me, this was not so relevant for me.
It was sometimes a bit noisy because the classroom doors were open or the noise came from the street when the windows were open. The digital equipment (projector or decent speakers for listening comprehension tasks) could be improved.

Tétouan is probably a bit more expensive in summer due to the many tourists, especially from Spain, so the food prices were like in Europe. Instead, we explored the beautiful beaches and places in the area (Chefchaouen, Mdiq, Septa, Capo Negro, Belyounch, Fnideq, Tangier, Martil) with a rental car.”
Quality of teaching / language progress: Super teacher with whom I will stay in contact in the future and book further online courses with him.

“I learned so many new things in a very short time and, thanks to the motivation of the teacher and the other students, I finally dared to apply what I had learned. The school welcomed me so warmly that I felt at home from day one. The activities in the afternoon were informative, fun and experiences for life. I learned a lot about the language, the country and myself and would recommend the school to anyone who wants an adventure and a trip that will teach you a lot for life. The teachers made it easy to arrive and learn. All in all, it was a wonderful time!”
Quality of teaching / language progress: Super interesting lessons.
Other comments: It was nice to meet and get to know so many different, exciting characters. It is a place of knowledge and gathering of interesting people. A wonderful place to learn and discover new things. But also a very interestingly designed class with lots of laughter.

“Dar Lughat is the best place in the world! Director Zeid, assistant Aladdin, teachers - all open and good people. Here I not only improved my knowledge, but also made many new friends. Special thanks to the driver and assistant Aladdin, who became my best friend and took care of me. I advise everyone to study at Dar Lughat School in the best city in the world, Tetuan!!!”
“Everything is perfect!”
Insider tip: “If you choose Standard Arabic course, be prepared that people do not speak it in Morocco. Here they mainly use the local dialect of Darij, not everyone understands standard Arabic.”

“I really liked everything. Everyone is very friendly and helpful ... all the time. The side offers (included in the price), such as excursions and conversation are interesting and also updated regularly, so I was really curious to see what would be offered the coming week. The option to use computers and copiers at no extra cost was something I did not know from other schools. I will definitely go there again. And also: great location of the school right in the city center.”
Insider tip: “If you like the beach, you could opt for an accommodation directly in Martil. By group taxi, it's only more 10 minutes and it doesn't cost much more (either way, 5 dhr). In low season, there are are well-priced options (also via airbnb).”
Other comments: During the long journey from my accommodation I always had some difficulties during the "dip at lunchtime" - when you cannot get home and you get tired. Even for that it was possible to lay down on the floor of a classroom with a blanket. That says a lot about the school.

Other comments: Personal work after school is essential for progress! A working room within the school would be good for it! To avoid in summer, too crowded !!! Insider tip: “Hiking, trip to Medina, visit Museum”
Other comments: The only disadvantage of Tetouan Apartments and school: it is very very noisy by the road and due to the central location. Not recommendable for people sensitive to noise. Comments about courses

If the number of students is insufficient (less than three), the school will reduce studying hours for group classes:

  • Class of 2 students: 15 hours per week.
  • Class of 1 student: 10 hours per week.
These changes will affect neither the cost nor the content of the course.
Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 15 €. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.

"The Moroccan host family (a host mother in her 60s with two adult daughters) lives in a beautiful, large old town house (they rent out several rooms to travelers) in the heart of the city center. The school is a 15-20 minute walk away. The family was very nice and took good care of me. The room was small but perfectly adequate. Due to the unexpectedly cold weather, the house was cold (no heating). This is something to keep in mind when traveling there in winter. The family only spoke Moroccan dialect, not classical Arabic, so communication was somewhat difficult and offered no additional speaking practice. Half board consisted of a typical Moroccan breakfast (tea, bread, jam, cream cheese, fruit). I ate dinner with the family. After they understood the concept of what a vegetarian eats, they always cooked me delicious vegetable dishes.

I am wondering about the class days. As a start day, I see Monday listed. Is the end day the Monday the following week? Or is it a class week Monday to Friday?
“A lesson week is Monday to Friday (no lessons on weekends). With the 20 lessons per week course, you will have 4 daily lessons per day (55 minutes each). Your schedule depends on when your level group has lessons and will take place between 9:00 - 13:00 or 13:00 - 17:00.”

“Sure, it's free if the arrival is between 7 am and 11 pm. Otherwise, there is a supplement of 20€.”
Zayd, Administration from Dar Loughat - Cross-Cultural Language Center, Tetouan - Mar 21, 2023
Do I need a visa to come to Morocco?
“Most countries are exempted from the visa formality. See list online. If your country is on the list, you will get a "visa waiver" when you enter Morocco. This is nothing more than a stamp in your passport as you pass customs. There is no cost involved. The visa waiver allows you to stay in Morocco as a visitor for 90 days. For those staying over that period, a stay extension will be required. Please, note that your passport must be valid until at least the day you leave Morocco.”
Lisa Lebret, LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 24, 2022

What should I expect on my first Monday morning at the school?
“You should plan to arrive at 8:30 am on your first day. You will be asked to take a language placement test, unless you are a complete beginner. The test will take about 30 minutes; the Head of the Arabic department will evaluate your language level and will place you in the appropriate class. Immediately after, there will be an orientation session where you will be given the classes schedule and the programme of activities for the week.”
Lisa Lebret, LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 24, 2022

Lisa Lebret, LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 24, 2022
How will the language be taught and what should I expect in class?
“We believe that teaching a language cannot be successful solely by routine and repetition but should be creative and communicative. Our students learn very fast in our classrooms, which are highly communicative and student-centered. The evaluations by students after they complete a course is excellent. The discount for using your website is also a great incentive. It also would be wonderful if the website would include more cities and a bigger selection of schools in each city.
