General Information on Playa del Carmen
Playa del Carmen is a city located on the coast of the Caribbean Sea, in the north east part of the state of Quintana Roo, in Mexico. "Playa", as it is commonly referred to, is the centre of the Riviera Maya, a long stretch of coast that goes from Cancun all the way to Tulum. It is a very lively town, that has been able to maintain its charm without succumbing to mass tourism. Visitors can contemplate the Maya culture throughout the numerous archaeological sites in the region as well as participate in a wide variety of recreational activities that include water sports, diving, fishing, tennis and golf.

The language school International House - Riviera Maya was founded in Playa del Carmen, Mexico in 2004. The school is located in the very centre of Playa del Carmen, between Av.5 and Av.10 just two blocks from the beach. There are dozens of bars, restaurants and shops nearby.
Facilities
School facilities include 10 spacious classrooms, all with air-conditioning and views of the garden, which is full of exotic trees and plants. There is also a bar in the garden where students can relax and socialise after class. The school is equipped with an Internet room, which is used regularly for practice activities and a wifi area.
