General Information on International House Bogota

The language school International House Bogota was founded in Bogota, Colombia in 2007. The school is located in the centre of La Candelaria, the city's historical district, less than 10 minutes walk from Plaza de Bolivar, which is the old city's main square. The school is located in Calle 10. N 4-09, La Candelaria, Bogota (Colombia).

Facilities

The school includes 12 spacious classrooms all with natural light, a computer room with high speed Internet access, an auditorium with space for up to 30 people, two beautiful courtyards for relaxing and WIFI.

Airport transfer

Best arrival airport is El Dorado International Airport.  It takes 40 minutes by car to school.

This programme combines an Intensive Spanish course with 3 or 4 hours of volunteer work with children, the elderly or internal refugees each afternoon. The organizations we work with include: Fundación Social por Bogotá, Fundación Casa Linda Hogar, Hogar Abuelitos Sol y Luna*, Hogar Amor y Vida, and Fundación de Atención Al Migrante. Activities may include: With children and adolescents: Teaching Basic English, Playing table games, Leading recreational activities. With Internal Refugees: Teaching Basic English, Teaching hand crafts, Going to the park, etc., Leading recreational activities. With the elderly: Accompanying and assisting residents with daily activities, Playing table games, Going to the park, etc., Reading to the residents. Please note that the Hogar Abuelitos Sol y Luna does not have reading materials or games available and volunteers are therefore asked to bring their own. Please also note that IH Bogotá does not provide transportation, but is happy to advise students on how best to arrive at their destinations.

IH Bogotá now offers the opportunity to combine an Intensive Spanish course (minimum 2 weeks) with an unforgettable 5-day eco-adventure in the Amazon rainforest, on the border of Colombia, Brazil and Peru. Along with expert local guides, you’ll explore the natural beauty and rich culture that the Amazon and its indigenous people have to offer. Hike through nature reserves and canoe down rivers, see pink dolphins and meet people from the local communities -- all while exploring the stunning ecological diversity of the rain-forest. The departure dates for the Amazon adventure are as follows: February: 12, March: 11, April: 22, May: 20, June: 17. Included: Return airfare Bogotá-Leticia-Bogotá, 4 nights accommodation (1 night in a hotel in Leticia, 1 night in the Marasha Nature Reserve and 2 nights in the Amacayacu Park). Full board on the second, third and fourth days, dinner on the first day, and breakfast on the fifth day. All local transport, guide and activities.
