General Information on Merida
Known as "The City of Gentlemen" the city is considered one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Venezuela. The city is filled with a highly active outdoor and cultural life. The weather and natural scenery of the city are one of its well known attributes, with easy access to Venezuela´s highest mountains in the Andes.
General Information on Jakera
The language school Jakera was founded in Merida, Venezuela in 1996. The Merida school is situated in a fully restored traditional Venezuelan Villa on Plaza Las Heroinas, in the historical centre of the Andean city of Merida. The Plaza is the the centre of Cultural events and festives. Merida is a safe University City. The other school at Playa Colorada is situated directly in front of this well known beach - with the islands of Mochima National Park in front.
Facilities
The Merida school offers a library and a TV room. The second school at Playa Colorada, Mochima National Park offers a library, a 12 metres Rock Climbing wall, and 15 sea kayaks.

| Comment | Accommodation and half board ARE INCLUDED in the course prices. Jakera Language School in Mérida is a family run Posada comprising accommodation and recreational space as well as teaching facilities. The Posada was renovated in 2004 and is bright and airy with a rooftop terrace looking across the main square in downtown Merida (across the Teleferico). The Jakera Lodge at Playa Colorada has a variety of accommodations, large recreational space for social occasions, a towering climbing wall, a fleet of kayaks for exploring the National Park and a speedboat for water sports. Rate for extra night of accommodation with half board is EUR 15 for both Mérida and Playa Colorada. |
