General Information on Glasgow
Glasgow is one of Europe's most visited cities: More than 2 million tourists visit Glasgow every year to enjoy a wealth of cultural and leisure attractions, including the cathedral, Provand's Lordship (the oldes house in the city) or Glasgow Green (ideal park for walks). The city, that hosted the highly popular Glasgow Garden Festival in 1988, was European City of Culture in 1990, and mounted the spectacular Glasgow Festival of Visual Arts in 1996, offers a world-class art gallery and several excellent museums as well as an easy access to some of Scotlands beautiful mountains, glens, lochs and unspoilt coastline. Loch Lomond, for instance, is only 32km (20 miles) away.
