What we like about the school
- A seaside resort school, just a few minutes' walk to the beach.
Venue: Sanremo, on the Italian Riviera near the border with France, is a seaside resort famous for its climate, beauty, and wealth of cultural events. Sanremo is the capital of what is known as the Riviera of Flowers and is famous for its flower growing industry. Omnilingua is located just a five minute walk away from Italo Calvino beach, named after the famous twentieth century writer who spent his youth in Sanremo and whose works are often evocative of his life there.
The School: Omnilingua has been teaching Italian to international students since 1999 and has received several awards for the quality of its services and its high level of student satisfaction. Situated in a beautiful, historic building, Omnilingua offers different study options to suit most tastes.
Courses: The school provides General and Intensive Italian courses as well as specialized programmes for CILS exam preparation and Professional Italian. Students can also take advantage of their time at Omnilingua to learn more about Italian Wine and Cooking or to brush up on their Tennis in the afternoon while studying Italian in the mornings. The school also runs a popular holiday programme for students over 50 which combines language study with cultural activities.
Getting there: The closest airport for arrival in Sanremo is Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport, in France, which is a 45 minute drive away. There is also a direct, non-stop bus service from the airport in Nice to Sanremo. Alternatively, travel between Nice and Sanremo by train is quite affordable though it generally requires a couple train changes. The school is located about a 3-minute walk away from the bus stop and 17 minutes from the train station.

"Waste of money and time.
Firstly: on the first day of training for new students, a survey tour was conducted along the streets adjacent to the school. The tour was conducted in Italian, which I did not know. The man who conducted the tour smoked on the go, it was very unpleasant for me, a non-smoker.
Secondly: there were no audio manuals in the classroom at all. Of the video manuals, only one video clip was used of singer Mahmoud. The teacher gave lectures in Italian, which I do not know, and which I would like to study. I didn’t understand anything. I bought a dictionary in a bookstore, but did not manage to translate with it. I had a tablet computer with me, but I could not use it, because the Wi-Fi signal was too weak in the classroom. Four other students studied in the Intensive program, and in the afternoon they studied with another teacher, so it was easier for them.
Thirdly: the teacher David was constantly ill. He sneezed and blew his nose, it was unpleasant, I was constantly afraid of getting sick because of this. On Friday, May 17, David was very sick, his sneezing and runny nose intensified, and he began to cough. In addition, a student of Romin fell ill, she also began to sneeze and blow her nose. I realized that my body could not stand the two virus carriers. I really didn’t want to get sick either, so I left school after studying for only a week. Moreover, I did not understand anything as the teacher spoke Italian.

“I also had one individual lesson after the group lessons. The two teachers (Cecilia and Maria) were not so good. For me, Maria was even better than Cecilia. Didactically okay-ish. After a while, Maria was more able to adapt to me (she always wanted to talk about fashion and art - not my topics. I told her I wanted to deal with everyday situations on the street, in the shop etc. as conversational topics). Both ladies sometimes spoke for 3-5 mins without any pauses.... As a student you get hung up on that. It's nice when, for example, Maria knows so much about art and history, but I haven't booked a university course. And not SHE, but I should speak as much as possible....”

Firstly: on the first day of training for new students, a survey tour was conducted along the streets adjacent to the school. The tour was conducted in Italian, which I did not know. The man who conducted the tour smoked on the go, it was very unpleasant for me, a non-smoker.
Secondly: there were no audio manuals in the classroom at all. Of the video manuals, only one video clip was used of singer Mahmoud. The teacher gave lectures in Italian, which I do not know, and which I would like to study. I didn’t understand anything. I bought a dictionary in a bookstore, but did not manage to translate with it. I had a tablet computer with me, but I could not use it, because the Wi-Fi signal was too weak in the classroom. Four other students studied in the Intensive program, and in the afternoon they studied with another teacher, so it was easier for them.
Thirdly: the teacher David was constantly ill. He sneezed and blew his nose, it was unpleasant, I was constantly afraid of getting sick because of this. On Friday, May 17, David was very sick, his sneezing and runny nose intensified, and he began to cough. In addition, a student of Romin fell ill, she also began to sneeze and blow her nose. I realized that my body could not stand the two virus carriers. I really didn’t want to get sick either, so I left school after studying for only a week. Moreover, I did not understand anything as the teacher spoke Italian.
