Course selection: The school provides Russian language courses suitable for students of all levels. In addition to General Russian taught over several schedules and intensities, ProBa Educational Centre also provides Russian for Tourism, Russian and Culture, and various programmes with activities around the city. ProBa Educational Centre St. Petersburg also provides English language courses.
Social and cultural: The school promotes many excursions and cultural happenings for a student's optional participation. Excursions can include trips to Moscow, Pskov and Novgorod. Various excursions and activities are also arranged around St. Petersburg. These activities can involve discussions on topics such as Russian orthodoxy and economics as well as visits to galleries and museums.

Learn Russian while studying while studying in small groups limited to a maximum of 8 students, with the possibility of the group being even smaller. You will find that participating in classes of this size is much easier than in larger settings since both the teacher and the students can hear each other easily, and have more opportunities to get to know one another.
The methodology favoured in this course tends to make use of interactive activities, to engage everyone as an active participant, giving you more total time spent speaking in Russian.

The school offers small class sizes with a maximum of 8 students. Instruction in small groups increases the amount of instructional time that the teacher has to spend with each student during the lesson. This allows for increased interaction between the teacher and the students. You feel more comfortable asking questions in the Mini Group Russian Courses, respond more frequently, and receive more corrective feedback. Instructional activities can be tailored more specifically to the needs of the students in small groups. To check the level of the Russian Language knowledge each student passes the entry test on the first day of studies. The test results are the basis for groups’ formation. This course includes 20 lessons per week (4/day).

In order to give our guests the possibility to not only master their knowledge of the Russian Language but also to visit our city during famous white nights, the school has designed The “White Nights Russian Language Courses” – two weeks special courses in June.

Academic Semester in St. Petersburg – 12 weeks of study
Semester Course is designed for people willing to achieve a high level of Russian Language and spend an extended period of time in St. Petersburg – Semester Abroad. Studying for a semester in another country can be a great cultural and academic learning experience. We offer you the opportunity of having academic semester course at our Centre. In the ProBa Academic Semester Abroad program, students become integrated into the way of life and culture of Russia. Students live with a Host Family and attend the Russian Language Course. The course includes serious study of different aspects of the Russian Language: Phonetics, Practical and Theoretical Grammar, Lexicology and Stylistics, and is accompanied by conversational, reading and writing practice.
Semester Program
Elementary Russian I and II. Russian for Beginners (no knowledge required) Phonetics; elements of grammar; reading of simple Russian prose; practice in speaking and audio-lingual work; elements of composition.
Intermediate Russian I and II (elementary or intermediate knowledge required) Russian for Intermediate students. The grammatical structure of today’s standard Russian; intensive practice in reading, conversation and composition; elements of lexicology, phraseology and stylistics.
Special program. Russian for Professionals (advanced and native speaker competency required) Theory and Practice of Translation; TORFL certification (Teaching of Russian as a Foreign Language); practice of modern Russian language: study of the Russian prose, theoretical and practical grammar of modern Russian; Lexicology; Stylistics; Phraseology; introduction to life in Russia that studies politics, society, history and culture.

The main concept of this Russian language course is that a student spends practically all the time with the teacher and has excellent possibilities for very serious language practice. This course comprises 20 individual lessons per week. Lessons are given at the teacher’s home, where a student lives. The timetable is jointly determined by a student and a teacher. The quality of the course is guaranteed by the educational system of our company. Students may take part in all additional cultural activities offered by the school.
On a one-to-one Russian homestay language program, you are carefully matched to a host teacher specialising in teaching Russian, who meets your needs and shares your interests. The Crash course is designed for participants wishing to get sufficient results in a very short period of time. This course is specifically developed for determined and highly-motivated people willing to acquire a sufficient knowledge of Russian in a fast and efficient way. Every participant receives a detailed intensive day-by-day program beforehand so that he can choose those points he considers to be the most important. Learn basic conversation skills in only 2 weeks! In this new super-intensive foreign language course, you will learn how to speak at a basic conversational level. Classes are taught daily with two different teachers. Everyday lunch with the teacher is included.
Evening cultural activities (theater, philharmonic) included in the program are accompanied by the teacher.

This project is aimed at people willing not only to study the language but also to do something in order to experience life as it is. The school offers you the unique opportunity of having a highly intensive Russian Language course (20 lessons per week in Mini-Grpoup) and practical work as a volunteer at the local charity organization or as a Foreign language teacher at our school.
Such work gives us the possibility to have more intensive language practice and life experience for our students. The volunteer work will be organized after your Russian lessons – after lunchtime.

If you work or would like to work in the tourism industry (as a travel agent, tour guide, flight attendant, etc.) - this course for you! Everyone who is connected with the Tourist Industry will have to learn Russian and be able to speak it in an informative and concise way.
Hotel Staff need to be able to smile and greet their guests pleasantly, but after that they may be asked a question and so they should be able to understand and reply in Russian. Your teacher will have gained specific knowledge and will have worked in Travel Industry as well as is aware of the correct usage of the Russian language; know how and when to use it in tourism. They will know exactly what you need and how to teach this to you.

The ProBa Language School offers students the opportunity to live with other students of various nationalities while studying. In this way the schared flats are established where students have the opportunity live and interact with other cultures. All shared flats are located in the city-centre, fully equipped and, in addition to bedrooms, provide a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen and at least one bathroom. The apartments are normally shared by 2-3 students. Every student get single room.
This accommodation option includes airport pickup.

The school has a list of carefully chosen Russian host families in St. Petersburg working for our school. All rooms are personally checked by staff and must meet strict criteria before being included in the school database. Each participant is accommodated in a single room having all the necessary conditions for rest and study. Twin and Double Rooms are available on request. The price for accommodation includes two meals – breakfast and dinner.
All our host families have apartments in the centre and not far from the school. Accommodation with a Russian family is an integral part of the language-learning experience. This is the most suitable variant for those who are willing to understand spoken Russian perfectly as members of the families know usually a little of a foreign language. Students may stay with their host for as little as one week.
All hosts have been selected for the quality of their homes, in particular the room you are going to stay in, as well as their willingness to make an overseas visitor feel at home.
All rooms are single. By special arrangement, the school can also provide twin or double rooms. You will have access to the communal parts of the house or flat. You will also be given your own front door key.
The hosts are Russian native speakers and you will be expected to speak in Russian in the family home. Hosts also reflect the diverse nature of the population of St. Petersburg and you can for example select a host with or without children, or a retired host, who may have more time on their hands to interact with you. To enable you to develop your expertise in Russian, the school will ensure there will be no other person in the house who speaks your language fluently.
We recommend accommodation in the host family with two meals/day because otherwise, you should waste your time every evening to find an appropriate cafe. Here is just one kitchen-dining room in Russian apartments, and it is an inconvenient situation when the host family will have dinner but you should wait in your room and then prepare something for yourself. The school can accommodate our students in double, twin and single rooms. We recommend our youth hostels because of their central locations. Living in the heart of the city you’ll have more possibilities for rest and sightseeing tours.
All the rooms are clean and have the necessary conditions for rest and study. The furnished kitchen, shower and WC are common in the block.
