General Information on Trier
Trier is the oldest city in Germany, founded in 16 A.D. It lies in a valley between low vine-covered hills near the German border with Luxembourg and within the important Moselle-Saar-Ruwer wine-growing region. The town is known for its well-preserved Roman and medieval buildings, like the Roman gate Porta Negra and ruins of Roman baths and for being the birthplace of the influential philosopher and revolutionary Karl Marx. Trier is a charming university town where you easily can explore its historical heritage and pedestrian streets, cafés and shops.

The most common criticism of language courses is that students speak their own language with friends after class. This weakness is completely eliminated, as you are the only student in your teacher's house.
