Includes the Intensive 20 course plus 2 Salsa workshops of 90 minutes per week (in small groups with locals at a dancing studio). 4 daily lessons of 45 minutes will take place within the following possible time slots. It originates in Andalusia and there’s no better place to learn the art than in Granada. With this course you will really live the flamenco, learning of its origins and complexities. Plus, you’ll get new opportunities to practice your Spanish skills. The flamenco dance program can be combined with any Spanish course in Granada. Because the flamenco classes are private, they can be adapted to suit the times of your Spanish course.

This course includes 10 language lessons and 8 initiation flamenco dance lessons per week.Aimed at all those people without prior knowledge interested in learning about flamenco dancing, wanting to experiment and delve into this art. Participants will start in some of the styles that have a simpler rhythm, such as tangos or fandangos. This initiation will be done through various activities: listening to recorded music to learn to recognize its rhythm and to accompany the music with clapping; making simple markings, taking the first and simple footsteps, moving the arms and hands in a flamenco style, and most importantly: learning a small exit and marking of the dance to the beat of the music. The duration of this level of initiation depends on the progress of the student, but as a guide it can be said that it is possible to do from one to four weeks, before moving on to the next level. With this course you will get a first experience with flamenco, which for many has already become a true passion. For the first week of this course, flamenco shoes are not essential, just comfortable clothes. Every two weeks there is normally a change of teacher. You can check the teachers scheduled for the months upcoming in scheduled courses and schedules. The teachers who teach the classes are professional dancers with experience in teaching flamenco dance at different levels. You can see many of them perform in nearby tablaos where they work.

This course includes 10 language lessons, 16 technical flamenco dance and choreography lessons per week.You will enter the level that corresponds to you and you will be able to progress through the levels that we offer as you progress. The school offers four different levels: initiation, beginners, intermediate and advanced. At the initiation level, the first week will combine the dance course with a compass course, to spend the second week combining with the technique for beginners. In the rest of the levels, the technique and choreography courses are combined from the beginning. The duration of each level depends on the progress of the student, but as a guide it can be said that it is possible to do from one to four weeks in initiation, from six to eight at the beginner level and from eight to twelve weeks at the intermediate level. depending on the number of courses being taken and the progress of each student. At the advanced level there is no limit of weeks. In the Technical class, warm-up exercises, footwork, markings, turns, setbacks, arms, hands, balance and body positioning are carried out every day. All the elements involved in the dance are practiced, without the need to learn a complete choreography. Normally, different dance phrases are worked on for different flamenco palos (styles): alegrías, bulerías, seguiriya, etc. Sometimes recorded music is used to perform the exercises. During the class of Choreography, normally, every two weeks, you will learn a different choreography for one of the most common flamenco styles. Depending on the level, some styles or others are worked on. In the one for beginners, tangos, alegrías, fandangos and bulerías are worked on. At intermediate and advanced levels, dance por alegrías, soleá por bulerías, bulerías, jaleos, abandolaos, tientos, tangos, seguiriya, guajira, caña and farruca, among others, is usually studied. At the advanced level you can study any style, including the soleá or the taranto, among others. Special importance is given to the study of the compás and the style of each palo, its character and the form of execution of each dance, as well as the relationship with the guitar and cante. The choreography includes guitar accompaniment at all levels, as well as singing accompaniment punctually at the intermediate and advanced levels.
