This course is for unaccompanied minors and includes language lessons in the morning, sports activities in the afternoon and an excursion on Saturday. Full board accommodation is included.Goals: • Improve the level of French and strengthen the basic linguistic structures. • Practice French in the context of sports and creative activities. • Promote exchanges in a multicultural environment. Evaluation: At the end of the course, two documents are given to the student: • A certificate of completion specifying the duration and objectives of the course • An evaluation of the skills acquired with comments from the teacher French Classes: In the morning, the course uses audio-visual and audio-oral methods based on communication. The work is oriented around authentic documents specific to the interests of young people. A multimedia pedagogical environment is associated with the lessons through the use of language laboratories, computers and TV studio sessions to carry out role-playing games. In the afternoon, students are offered a wide variety of activities around the French language organized and supervised by teachers. These fun activities are programmed by the teachers according to the preferences of the pupils and the points covered in the program. Lunches: Lunches are supervised by the CAREL team. Sporting Activities: A different activity every day. Program defined with the young people at the beginning of the week. These activities, practiced with young French people, place the teenager in a situation of authentic communication. HOST FAMILY ACCOMMODATION One week stay: Arrival on Sunday evening, departure on Saturday morning Half-board: breakfast and dinner taken with the family Stay of 2 weeks or more: Arrival on Sunday evening, departure on Saturday morning Half-board from Monday to Friday Packed lunch for Saturday Sunday: family day Saturday Excursion (for stays of 2 weeks minimum): On Saturday, the students are taken to discover emblematic places of the region such as the Zoo of La Palmyre, the Futuroscope, the Aquarium of La Rochelle, the Lighthouse of La Coubre etc… These excursions are an opportunity for students to continue learning the language in a relaxed atmosphere and a pleasant environment.

I liked the classes generally. I felt the teaching was very good though unfortunately most of our time at Carel was not spent learning French.
If you are not coming with a group, afternoon activities may be considerably less enjoyable.

After finishing the French course for the morning the 2 hour lunch break is excessive. Also opening the school gym would have been a nice addition.

Nothing about the school. Multiactivities were the best.
The school did not offer all levels and did not inform me that my level was not there. I was put in a lower level which obviously did not contribute to a significant progress in my French. I was completely left alone in my free time without any supervision from any adult even though I am only 14. My parents didn't like it, of course.
