Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
Negative aspects
Some teachers didn't seem to have a clear structure. Some teachers were boring, and not dynamic and interesting. Some were.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Go to this school when they are not entertaining any university students.
Other comments
There should be a very strict DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH policy. When I was in Cuernavaca years ago, they would fine anyone speaking English. They hired little kids to run around to listen, and would write up a ticket to pay a fine. It was VERY effective!
City/place
I felt very safe in Queretaro. I didn't really go out at night, and because the school had no plans for me for the weekend between the two weeks I was there, I went to FB Queretaro Expats to ask if anyone in the town wanted to get together either Sat or Sun or both to practice Spanish. I met a guy who teaches Spanish and will hire him to work with me via Zoom now that I'm back in California. We met a few times after school, and we were able to get other locals to attend our meeting at a local restaurant.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Some teachers were boring and didn't seem to have a clear plan for teaching. When I taught first grade, I was required to have a lesson plan for the month, week and day. Some did some didn't. I also would have liked to practice more talking with other students who were at my level or beyond my level, and to listen more to native speakers to try to get used to the speed.
Accommodation
My unit (bedroom /bath) was isolated from the rest of the family, so there was no interaction when I was in my room. The other students always spoke English. That was the reason I didn't bring my husband along. I knew he'd speak English, so it was frustrating to hear so much English, not only in the homestay, but also on campus. Teachers did not insist on a strict Spanish only rule on campus. The other problem with the homestay was that I was being bitten by mosquitos to an uncomfortable level. So much so that after the first night, I checked into the Gran Hotel and asked for a room without a balcony. I think I would have preferred a homestay where the host did not know English. That way they have no options but to speak Spanish. I know the school had many students, but I would have preferred to go at a time when an entire university of young students was not present. That way English would not have been such an issue. Staff was delightful and went out of their way to be helpful, and Manuel was also very friendly and helpful as the only teacher I had for both weeks.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I can't think of any.
Other comments
Might have been helpful if I had known results of exam ahead of time and also what areas teachers planned to cover.
Quality of teaching / language progress
1. I performed the examination to assess the appropriate level prior to going to the school but for some reason this was never passed on to the teachers. Fortunately I had a printed copy with me so this was corrected reasonably quickly.
2. The school arranged a walking tour of the city centre but I felt could have offered more help and information regarding tours of the surrounding region, particularly the Sierra Gorda. Local tour companies would not take reservations for one person and it might have been helpful to know if other students would have been interested in taking this kind of tours.
Accommodation
Excellent. Very warm lovely lady, Senora Alvarez! The only risk would have been morbid obesity had I stayed much longer.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Ole is the best language school in Queretaro. They operate with a lot of integrity and respect between the supervisors, staff and instructors.
Other comments
My good experience at Ole counteracted my previous negative experience at another language school in Queretaro.
