Personal data collection in accordance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

LanguageCourse SL has been certified by independent data protection auditors of Grupo Atico34 (Pº de la Castellana, 95, 15; 28046 Madrid; Spain) to be in compliance with GDPR privacy regulations. It has been certified that technical and organizational security measures have been taken to guarantee the security of personal data. LanguageCourse SL complies with the principles of proactive responsibility outlined in Art. 5.2 and 24 of European regulation of data protection.


LanguageCourse S.L. collects personal data via forms on this website, which are saved in electronic form for the provision of its services. Personal data collection and processing are aimed at maintaining business relationships, providing information, counselling, registration services and other activities. Personal data provided will be kept as long as the commercial relationship is maintained as required by commercial or fiscal regulations.
Treatment of personal data is legitimized by requesting information and/or contracting the services of LanguageCourse S.L. whose terms are made available prior to a possible contracting or by consent to this privacy policy within the online forms on this site.


Below we inform you in detail about the processing of your data.

1. How we treat your data

1.1 We treat your information very seriously. We won't share your personal information with any third party, except with those that provide you with a service, stated below, in which case you give us the right to share the minimum necessary information in order to proceed with your reservation contract and guarantee service quality. 1.2 The following personal data you provide by filling out online forms on our website or via telephone: - First and last name (and middle name or second last name as applicable), passport number, nationality, date of birth, address, phone number (and emergency number if needed), e-mail. This data is required to process registrations with the school of our student’s choice and to provide appropriate consultation to our students. - Language level. This is required by schools as availability for specific starting dates depends on the language level of a student. - Bank information. Should you choose to pay the prepayment of your booking by direct debit, we keep this information until the payment has been debited from your account. - Credit and debit card information. Should you choose to pay by credit or debit card, the data is saved in encrypted form with our payment provider. We will never see your complete card details. The data is kept until the payment has been guaranteed. - We don't keep your gender (only in case you want us to treat you as Mr. or Ms. we will keep the treatment part), religion, ethnicity or any association.

1.3 We may send you periodic information about offers on our website. At any given time you have the right to withdraw and may exercise that right through a link in the footer of the email you receive. 1.4 If you choose to rate your satisfaction with the contracted service/products, your rating will be viewable to other visitors of our website along with your age. country of residence, first name and initial, unless you choose to publish your evaluation anonymously. 1.5 After completion of the contractual agreement, your personal data will be automatically deleted after the expiration of the required archiving periods specified by current tax and commercial regulations.

2. Data sharing with other providers

Schools: The personal information you provide is shared with your chosen school (which may be located outside of the EU). Your payment details (credit card/bank account) will not be shared with the school. Payment providers: We will not save your payment related information in our own system or records whenever you pay by credit card, debit card, paypal or Skrill. See detailed information about payment methods. In these cases you will enter your payment related data directly at the website of the payment provider. In case of credit card or debit card payments your payment data is processed by the PCI-DSS certified payment provider Redsys S.L. located in the EU in Spain. We will never see your complete card details. Your card details are only saved by the payment provider. We will only be able to access a so called “token”, which is an ID provided by the payment provider associated to your payment details. Hosting services operated by a third party: A third party hosts our web server. This is required to provide a fast and secure web service. All data collected as part of the use of this website or in the online forms provided will be processed on our web server. This hosting provider is located within the European Union. The hosting provider does not have root access to our server and can therefore not access any personal data saved on our server. The hosting provider does however have access to the so-called server log files which contain the IP addresses, date and time of request and the requested file name. The hosting provider will keep this data for a maximum of 7 days. The collection of server log files is required to guarantee a secure operation of the server. We will save server logs afterwards for a duration of maximum 12 months on our own server in order to comply with PCI regulations for the exclusive purpose of facilitating criminal investigations in case of attacks on the web server. We will always keep the information shared with the mentioned third parties to the minimum required.

3. Use of Cookies

Our website saves so called “cookies”. Proprietary cookies set by our own website serve to improve the usability of your website visit. Data such as course duration, starting date, and accommodation preferences are saved in cookies to avoid that users have to repeatedly enter this information on different places on our website. We also save cookies to ensure that website content is always displayed in the language preferred by the user. Third party cookies are used as well as outlined in the following sections in order to provide a better experience of our website visitors. For website analysis this website uses analytics services from Google (Universal Analytics), Facebook and Yandex (Metrica). They help us to detect errors on the website and provide our visitors a better experience. These services place cookies in the browser of the visitor and collect IP addresses of users in anonymized and non-anonymized form. Google and Facebook are certified by the EU-US privacy shield. 5. Remarketing advertising

Remarketing with Google Adwords, Facebook/Instagram, Yandex, Bing This website is promoted in the search result pages of Google, Yandex, Bing as well as on Facebook and on third party websites in their advertising network. For remarketing a cookie is set by these companies upon visiting pages on our site, which allows interest-based advertising. Remarketing allows us to tailor our marketing to better suit your needs and only display ads that are relevant to you. For Google you can disable the remarketing cookie and personalized advertising here. For Facebook you can disable personalization options of advertising in their ad settings here. 6. Social media plugins

Social plugins for Facebook, Google, Twitter, AddThis, Pinterest. Our website uses plugins of the above mentioned social media. If you visit a page on our website which uses one of these plugins, your browser will connect automatically to Facebook, Google, Twitter or Pinterest. The content transmitted via this plugin comes directly from the respective provider to your browser and integrated with the page. Through this process, the provider is informed that you have visited that page on our website, even if you do not have an account with them or if you are not signed in at the time. For videos from Youtube that are included on our site the advanced privacy setting is enabled. This means that no information is collected and stored on Youtube unless website visitors are playing a video. For information on the purpose and scope of the data collection and the further data processing and use of the data by Youtube as well as your specific right and options for protecting your privacy on Youtube please refer to Google's Privacy Policy: Other embedded Google services and code: Google Maps: This website uses Google Maps for the visual presentation of geographic information. Google Maps is operated by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). In the interest of making the locations of course providers easily accessible. When using Google Maps, Google transmits or processes data about the use of the Maps features by our website visitors including the IP address and location data. Due to caching, for a large share of visits no such data is transferred as long as the visitor does not click on the map. However for a certain percentage of our visitors data may also be transferred if a map is not clicked. We have no influence on this data processing. Our profiles on Facebook, Google, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest Our profiles on social media platforms facilitate the communication with our existing and prospective students. We inform them about our services and ongoing promotions. When you visit our social media profiles your information may be collected and stored automatically for marketing, research and promotional purposes. So-called usage profiles are created than can be used for example to place advertisements inside and outside of the social media platform. For this purpose usually cookies are also saved by the social media platform on your device. As a user of these platforms you were asked upon account creation to consent to this data processing. As far as the aforementioned social media platforms are headquartered in the US the following applies. For the US, a decision on the appropriateness of the European Commission is available. 7. Sending evaluation reminders by email

We will use your email address to contact you after the end of the course and ask for an evaluation of your satisfaction with your course and also with our services. Consent to contact you after the end of the course for this purpose can be withdrawn at any time by simply notifying us. Refer to the contact details at the end of this page.

8. Security

Your personal data is encrypted using 256-bit SSL technology and is transmitted over the internet in an encrypted format. We secure our website and our other systems through technical and organizational measures against loss, destruction, access, modification or distribution of your data by unauthorized persons.

9. Rights of access, rectification, cancellation, limitation, portability and opposition

In accordance with Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR) you can execute your rights of access, rectification, cancellation, limitation, portability and opposition to your personal data simply by notifying us via our contact form or by sending a letter to our postal address C/ Casp, 46 - 5C, 08010 - Barcelona, Spain accompanying your request with a personal identification document (e.g. scan of passport, driving licence, national ID card). You have the right of rectification, cancellation and opposition as far as your request is not conflicting with national regulations for archiving specified e.g. in tax and commercial law.
