This super-intensive German course complements the intensive course in the morning with 2 more lessons in the afternoon - in small groups of 5 to 8 students per class. This course is ideal if you want to practice and perfect your German in a smaller group after the lunch break.

This course can be taken online or on campus.

Classes start every Monday all year round on all levels. Complete beginners can start every 1st Monday of the month. The course duration is defined by the student. Should a student progress faster or slower than the rest of the class, they can change classes after consultation with the teacher.

GLS teachers work in pairs, with two teachers responsible for a class, alternating after every break. The aim is to expose students to more than one voice and speaking style. The teaching approach is communicative. Students are encouraged to talk as much as possible; systematic error correction is a key concept in the school's teaching model as is the exclusive use of the target language (German) in class. They extend this philosophy to GLS activities outside the classroom, i.e. to after-class activities and excursions.

We recommend this course if you think your German needs some polishing before you take the exam: The course combines a regular German course in the morning with exam preparation in the afternoon. In the morning you practice all the basic skills like speaking, listening, reading and writing, and in the afternoon the focus is exclusively on the exam.

Duration: 4 weeks, with daily tuition.
Mondays to Friday: 09:00 to 14:45 (on Mondays 09:00 to 12:30).
Group size: max 12 in the morning, max 8 in the afternoon.
Teaching units: 112 at 45 minutes each.

The college has a 16.000 m² park-like campus on trendy Kastanienallee - with fancy clubs, cafes and designer shops just down the street. The street is nicknamed Casting Ally because there are so many films and fashion shootings here. Every day we´ll show you a different part of Berlin - you´ll get to see all the highlights like Museumsinsel or the Berlin Wall. The German courses start in the afternoon, Berlin sightseeing and our activities take place before and after the course. Their focus: is urban arts and culture, with workshops on topics like Berlin street art or photography.

The Berlin Villa has 40 beds and a big garden - ideal for a summer holiday with German courses if you like it small, cosy and familial. The villa is like a safe island in the very center of bustling Berlin: it is located near Kurfuerstendamm, the most famous shopping street in the western city center. In the villa, you live and learn German with students from all over the world, and together you will set out to explore Berlin. German courses take place in the morning, and every afternoon our guides show you the best of Berlin: We´ll go swimming at the Badeschiff, play minigolf at Mauerpark next to the Berlin Wall, and of course we´ll do some sightseeing, too: Checkpoint Charlie, Reichstag, Potsdamer Platz ...

This course includes 2 activities per day, 2 excursions per week and insurance.

2 activities per day (sailing, surfing, canoeing, catamaran adventures, badminton, volleyball and climbing) as well as 1 full-day and 1 half-day excursion per week.

The summer camp is located on one of the beautiful lakes that surround Berlin, in the little village of Blossin. This camp has fantastic water sports facilities - with lots of canoes, sailing boats and surfing equipment. When German courses finish, in the afternoon, we go canoeing, sailing or surfing. And of course, there will be beach parties and barbecues by the lakeside, too. Berlin is only 30 km away: Every week we arrange 2 excursions to Berlin and you´ll get to see all the highlights: Berlin´s neues Downtown: Potsdamer Platz, the Berlin Wall, Museumsinsel ...

One-to-one and private mini-groups:

The preparation for the certificate telc German B1 is possible one-to-one or in a private mini-group, i.e. a group you put together - with one, two or more friends. Max group size = 6. Share the fun and split the cost!

Having finished the prep course you can sit the exam GLS in Berlin or a test center near you. While you can do the prep course online, the exam itself requires personal attendance. There are telc examination centers in many countries: find yours here.

This course combines the Standard Course (minimum 8 weeks) with university pathway preparation. It includes application service for 3 universities in Germany, conditional acceptance letter issued by a partner university, visa support including preparation for visa interviews as well as weekly consultations.

The GLS university pathway program will guide you through every step and will outline a personal roadmap to university studies in Germany for you. The GLS German Language School in Berlin is an official testing center for TestDaF and telc C1 German, required for university studies in Germany.

This course combines the Standard Course (minimum 4 weeks) with 6-12 weeks unpaid internship. It includes a 90-minute coaching session and free evening German lessons for a month (2 lessons, twice per week).
Due to visa and work permit regulations, for this course, the school can only accept EU citizens, citizens of countries that can apply for a working holiday visa or others who are legally allowed to work in Germany.
The course consists of:

• knowledge of German on level B1.
  
• minimum age 18.
  
• finished secondary education.
  
• time budget of min. 10 weeks (course and internship).
  
• health and liability insurance (if you don´t have it, you can book it via GLS).
  
• EU citizenship (incl. Switzerland) or for citizens of Canada, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, New Zealand, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan - a working holiday visa (more). Citizens of other countries need a work permit or a student visa allowing them to work.

Students will have the opportunity to study in a German high school in Berlin.

We place you at a secondary school called Gymnasium (more about schools and host families below). If you attend a day school in Germany, you will stay with a host family near your school. The advantages of day schools compared to boarding schools:

They cost less than boarding schools.
You can also do short stays of 2 or 3 months.

You can also attend a boarding school in Germany with GLS. Boarding schools are more expensive than day schools, and usually, they expect a minimum stay of one year. One big advantage: The boarding schools below offer you the possibility to do the "Abitur" and then go on to study at a German university. If you want to do the Abitur, plan to spend at least the final 2 years prior to the Abitur exams in Germany. All boarding schools demand that you speak German quite well.

If you don´t, you can first do a preparatory course in Berlin and then transfer to the boarding school of your choice. The boarding school programme starts with a starter weekend in Berlin.

Business German is a formal style of German that is spoken in workplaces and professional contexts. Their courses train the language skills needed in any professional situation, but they also impart knowledge of German business culture and etiquette.

This course combines 20 group general language lessons with 20 one-to-one lessons preparing you for the business world per week.
