Questions and answers about TLA-The Language Academy

  • The Language Academy in Fort Lauderdale is accredited by SEVP and they can issue the I-20 for your student visa application.
To qualify for a student visa, students must be enrolled in a full-time course of studies - 18 hours of tuition or more per week, for at least 4 weeks.
You will need to apply in person at the US embassy in your country. Once the school has confirmed the course, the visa process will take approximately 4 weeks (the delay may vary from country to country).
    Ana Carolina, LanguageCourse.net - Aug 09, 2021
  • We we will be happy to register you in our part-time course, however, part-time courses of less than 20 lessons per week do not qualify for housing services.
Marco Pinna, Director from TLA-The Language Academy - Mar 18, 2022
  • For homestay, the family profile will be sent about 10 days before the course starting date, after the payment of all the school fees.
    Sawsan Zein, LanguageCourse.Net - Oct 26, 2022
  • If you are a true beginner (i.e. no previous knowledge of English), you must first take one week (20 lessons) of private lessons before joining the group classes.

If you have a beginner level A1 or A2, then you can join the group classes without having to take those private lessons beforehand.
Valeria Pinna, Reservations team from TLA - The Language Academy - Mar 23, 2023
  • The school accepts student from all over the world, but be aware visa regulations are rather delicate and they can change very quickly, so your best bet is to always contact the embassy or consulate directly in your home country.

    Rubén De Haro, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 31, 2023
  • At the time of writing, TLA is not offering group lessons online.
