Location: Waikato Institute of Education is located in Hamilton, in the Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island. Overseas High School students intending to study at New Zealand High Schools would need a good level of English. Direct enrolment into New Zealand High School is possible but it is recommended that students improve their English and learn about New Zealand before attempting to study at the High School. The WIE High School Preparation Programme prepares international students for enrolment at High School in New Zealand.

WIE High School Preparation Timetable
WIE High School Preparation programme is designed for students who will attend high school in New Zealand. The class will be student-oriented and communicative tasked based. - The morning class will develop students’ grammar, reading and writing skills to high school standards. It will cover general and specific vocabulary needed for a variety of subjects.
- The afternoon class will practice the oral, listening and study skills required for high school.
- On Friday afternoon, students will learn how to adapt to a New Zealand learning environment through individual and group assignments.
- Free pronunciation class every Thursday afternoon.

The Business English course helps you develop your English language skills at an upper intermediate to advanced level, with a focus on the English language for the office and business. WIE’S English Studies for Aviation course has been developed specifically for people who work in the Aviation industry and who need to comply with the International Civil Aviation Organisation's (ICAO's) language proficiency requirements.
The course is designed to assist aviation students to reach the required ICAO Level 4 of English language proficiency, while building confidence with conversational skills and technical language needed for use during training and active duty.
Covering a range of subjects associated with the Aviation industry, Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers in particular will find the course useful for improving their English, but anyone working in aviation - ground staff, emergency services, or administrators, for example - who want to improve their English ability, will benefit from the English for Aviation course as well.
As aviation industry staff are required to communicate effectively in a wide range of situations, from dealing with air traffic control, interacting with flight crew and being able to describe flight conditions in detail, themes covered as part of the course will focus on equipping the students with the skills needed to effectively converse in an English language environment within the context of aviation.

WIE’s English Studies for Nursing Registration (ESNR) programme prepares overseas-qualified, registered nurses to become Registered Nurse in New Zealand. The goals of the programme are:

Choose a specialised dance focus on Latin American, Ballroom, Modern Dance, Sequence Dance, Jazz Ballet, Hip Hop, Introduction to Ballet or another style! WIE’s English plus Dance offers students the opportunity to have private or group sessions with an
experienced Dance Coach in the style of your choice.
WIE’s central location is within walking distance to many of Hamilton’s top dance schools. In the mornings, students attend English classes to improve their listening, reading, writing and speaking abilities. In the afternoons students can have lessons with an experienced dance coach and learn a variety of basic dance moves and styles.

Hamilton is a city surrounded by Waikato’s beautiful rolling hills, meadows and countryside - the perfect location to enjoy New Zealand on horseback.
WIE has partnered with the Waikato Equestrian Centre to give you the opportunity to experience the excitement of horse riding as part of your English course. For beginner riders the programme includes riding lessons in the ring to help familiarise students with the horses, working up towards treks out across the farmlands. Experienced riders can take lessons in jumping and dressage, cross country sessions or simply enjoy trekking out over the scenic countryside.

Waikato Institute of Education’s convenient and central location in Hamilton means they are just 40 minutes away from the coastal town of Raglan, well renowned for its mild temperatures, great waves and surfing culture. The English + Surfing Programme at WIE provides students with the unique chance to improve their English and learn the amazing sport of surfing in New Zealand.
Students will spend their mornings learning English from the highly qualified and experienced tutors, leaving the afternoons free to be out on the waves in Raglan working with a local professional surfing instructor. In addition to the surfing instruction, students can look forward to beach barbecues and similar gatherings after a great day at the beach.

Choose to paint, draw, sketch, mould -- or learn it all. Art is the perfect way to harness creativity and express yourself. WIE is centrally located to many of Hamilton's art centres that hold classes to learn a new skill or develop a talent.
With an experienced art teacher, students will be able to learn from the best and put their own skills to the test. With a wide range of art classes available, students have the opportunity to practice many skills within the arts and come away with valuable new skills.

Hamilton is a city in the midst of one of New Zealand’s best farming districts, making it the perfect destination for those who want to get away from the city and learn about life on a farm.
The programme caters for all levels of English from beginner to advanced levels. You may choose to stay on a farm as part of your experience or we can arrange visits to farms instead. Our expert consultants will be able to design a flexible package to suit your specific needs. In the mornings, students will attend English classes leaving the afternoons and weekends free to explore farm life and get to know the animals that surround you. You can learn how to work with many animals such as cows, sheep, horses, chickens and pigs depending on where you want to stay. Learning to care for these animals will give you a new appreciation for farm life.
