Positive aspects of school
"Good value if you want a private class for the cost of a group class. Nice that they didn't reduce my hours when I was the only person at my level."
Negative aspects
"Extra small school with minimal social activities. Average of 4 students over the month that I was there, including two weeks where I was alone with only one other student. First week I wasn't even offered a single social activity. Very lonely to attend and I'm not sure how it is sustainable as a business. I would not return."

Positive aspects of school
"I was very satisfied overall. The location of the school is excellent, although the building is in need of some renovation. However, work is currently underway and the noise level was kept within reasonable limits with the windows closed - not a problem due to the weather. The staff were very friendly and competent throughout. I didn't find it ideal at first that I was in a class with more advanced students without any previous knowledge, but I was able to work more on the ‘basics’ in the afternoon lessons, together with just one other student."
Negative aspects
"The thematic structure of the teaching material could be optimised and the order of grammatical and content-related topics could be improved. Instead of the imperative right in the first lesson, for example, the polite form would make more sense in my view, e.g. doctor's visit, general information, asking for directions. Afternoon activities are offered in a form that offers no added value compared to organising them yourself due to a lack of information or ‘guidance’. Other students reported similar things about a wine tour."

Positive aspects of school
"Very homely! The assistant Ana is very helpful. Ernesto, the director, is very friendly. Marta, the teacher, was very good! We were only 4 students in the group, from 30-70 years old! The small group size means you learn more! The teaching material was also good, as was the structure of the lessons. The location is very central in a side street of Rua de Santa Catarina, a shopping street in the historic city centre. The nearest metro station is Bolhão. I would love to come back!"
Negative aspects
"Nothing really! If it is important to you: The school does not offer a certified test for a language level, such as the Cial in Lisbon."

There is a real sense of camaraderie across groups and teachers."
Negative aspects
"Teachers change on a weekly basis so if you choose longer course, it’s very likely you will be taught by different teachers. School has a policy of rotating teachers from one week to another. Teaching style is quite old school, with book and whiteboard only, no multimedia or listening exercises."

Positive aspects of school
"The teachers and staff were very nice. The location in the centre of Porto is excellent."
Negative aspects
"Unfortunately, I was placed in a B2 course, probably for lack of enough other students, although I only have my A1 diploma. Therefore, the level was too high for me. I didn't receive the materials until the third day of class and they didn't include an explanation of the grammar. Therefore, it is absolutely advisable to buy an extra book on grammar.
For a student with a B2 level, this would certainly have been a good course of study."

"A very recommendable city. The only thing is that I would no longer travel there in November, as I arrived at school with wet shoes almost every day, despite an umbrella. It simply rained too often. Excursions to other cities, such as Braga or Coimbra, are highly recommended."
Quality of teaching / language progress
"In general, OK. The training materials should cover the grammar a little more."
Accommodation
"The room was fine. It did not offer any luxury, but I did not expect that. It was very clean and big enough, even had access to a large terrace. The breakfast was very modest. However, I don't eat much breakfast, so my wishes were fulfilled. I am sure I would have had more choice if I had wanted it. The host was very nice and helpful. The public transport connection is poor. The range of restaurants nearby is very modest."

"The teaching concept is very good. The teachers have all completed higher education/university language courses and thus can teach linguistically very sound classes. They also have infinite patience. The family atmosphere at Fast Forward is very special. I have taken a 6 week 6 h a day course of individual lessons. It took all that time to break me of my Spanish speaking habits. Now I am working in Angola and have no communication problems."
