What our students said about Las Palmas
Las Palmas is a good city that welcomes visitors with its culture, beaches, and historical charm. For example: Las Canteras Beach: This iconic beach is a must-visit. Casa de Colón (Columbus House): Dive into history at this museum, which Vegueta District (Old Town): Don’t miss the Santa Ana Cathedral and the Plaza de Santa Ana. Poema del Mar Aquarium: impressive aquarium. From colourful fish to mesmerizing jellyfish displays. Bandama Crater: outside the city. The hike to the rim of the Bandama Crater offers panoramic views of the island. Local Cuisine: Try dishes like “papas arrugadas” (wrinkled potatoes) with mojo sauce and fresh seafood.
A functional residential city with faceless apartment buildings, but beautifully located by the sea with the wonderful Paseo de las Canteras. The old town of Vegueta is lovely, but can only be reached by bus as it is 7 km away. In the winter season, the weather in the north is often bad, as is currently the case. Lots of rain, snow on the Pico de las Nieves (!), and no view of the center of the island. But that's okay, the islanders don't mind the rain.
Very beautiful beaches. Unfortunately, almost three quarters of the entire upper peninsula is military property and not really accessible for tourism, except for a small stretch above Playa de las Canteras. But there are many other tourist attractions.
Less touristy than the south of the Island and lots of local things to do. Good variety of restaurants and bars. Good bus network to get you around although the buses don't announce the stop and its really difficult to tell the stop from the bus.
It's a great destination, but I was hoping for good weather. Unfortunately, there were a lot of cloudy days, and sometimes it rained; the worst part was the wind. The few sunny, cloudless days were great, but there weren't many of them.
A wonderful city with interesting historical sites, a rich cultural scene, good infrastructure, lovely shops, and a wide variety of restaurants. I also enjoyed taking bus trips to nearby towns such as Teror, Galdar, Aruca, and Agaete.
Not a city for party people. But great for lying on the beach or hiking in nature all year round. Top public transport and an exceptionally safe city.
Nice places to visit. Beautiful coastline. Temperatures often too cool, like the sea water, whose temperature does not always invite bathing
Great! Everything: culture, sea, possibilities of taking buses to the cities
Great city in a great climate with a fantastic beach and nightlife options.
What language school directors said about Las Palmas
According to the climatologist Thomas Whitmore of Syracuse University, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the city with the best climate in the world. The average temperature throughout the year is a very comfortable 21 degrees Celcius. Water sports can be practiced all year round. This cosmopolitan city has for centuries been a bridge between America and Europe. The character of the beautiful colonial buildings lining the narrow streets of its historical centre Vegueta gives faith of the legacy of its maritime history.

Fun and engaging process.
Teachers encourage students to speak in the lessons even if your level is not really high. This assures a great progress in conversational skills that so hard to get with language apps.

- The school is in a great location. It’s easy to reach by public transportation and just a few minutes from the beach and the ocean.
- My teacher, Christina (one-on-one lessons), was excellent; she gave me positive support and encouraged me to speak Spanish. She specifically addressed my weaknesses.
- The classrooms are well-equipped with laptops and large screens, allowing the various lessons to be presented in an effective and engaging way.
- Since I was sick, I had to cancel a few classes at short notice. The school offered on its own initiative to let me make up the classes the following week.
